Pen Spinning..

I'm trying to learn how to do the ThumbAround right now, and i'm failing utterly. My pen keeps falling out. So, if anyone can give me any tips...\

BTW, my J key snapped off as I wrote this, just put it back in.

Wait.

This is actually a thing?!

I've been doing this out of boredom in class for years...

Yeah it's a thing. A google search will lead ya to lots of tuts.

Hello, Office-Friendly hobby.
Goodbye, early-finish boredom.

College just got more entertaining.

i gave up on that one .
i just do that basic one between two fingers where it looks like you're spinning the pen . xD

I learned how to flip it around my thumb my sophmore year. I'm a senior now, and can do it around 19/20. I do it constantly without even thinking and every once in a while I'll get, "Woah! How'd you do that?" And I won't know what they're talking about.

It takes a lot of time. I can't really do any other tricks, but I can do it left handed around 50% of the time.

for the thumbaround, try to keep the pen balanced on the first knuckle and when you flick it with your third finger turn your write in a little bit to keep the momentum going forward. then just practice doing it. it takes time.

and on a personal note, fk the thumbaround and go learn the finger pass. its easier to do and looks 100x cooler than the thumbaround. or go learn the sonic :D looping sonics infinities are very cool to watch too. a lot more entertaining and impressive than just a regular thumbaround.

I know how to do the fingerpass, just .... choppily. But the thumbaround looks cooler IMO.

I made a blog about this a while ago :P

It's easy once you get the hang of it really :)

Make sure you have a good pen,I'd recommend something long and even(I use a pencil, just put some grip on both ends to put weight). ThumbAround is a bit tricky, just push the pen not too strong but also not too weak.

They got some nice vids there :)
