Its not like the wiiU doesn't have motion control. It does, it still uses the wiimotes. One great example of how both can be used together was in their little preview for the wiiU where the WiiU controller is placed on the ground, and a golf ball on a tee is shown on the screen. Using the wiiremote, you swing and see the ball take off the WiiU screen and enter the tv screen.

And its not like the wii didn't have classic controls either, I mean its called the classic controller for a reason, as well as the ability to use your gamecube controllers.

Nintendo never once said, from now on we're only doing motion control. No, they just showed that motion control has a place in gaming as well, and its certainly not going to be leaving the gaming scene any time soon either.

Probably because the PC isn't full of devs and companies that need to constantly wag their dicks around saying "LOOK WHAT WE'VE GOT".

The only real downside to owning a PC over, well, any other console is that if you want a super-high-end one, you'll need to pay a pretty penny. But then you can pirate most any game or save tons of money on Steam sales.

I don't even own a good PC but it's clearly the superior platform.

Yes, PC is a superior platform.

PC in and of itself doesn't have competition, which is prob why the fanbase is rather calm... It's free of the restraints [graphics- control - hardware- or software-wise] that consoles suffer from... I mean... Macs? LOL

This argument is starting to get so silly.
A lot of people expect the Wii U to be outdated in 2 years......
Let me tell you something:
Current xbox360 and PS3 games run on 1080p HDTVs, however a lot of games run on native 720p, and then upscaled.
They look great.
The Wii U will have 1080p natively, it means even better.
Now seriously, look at uncharted for the PS3 and tell me how much better then that could it look.
The Wii U , will have a slightly better performance, because..well it's newer, and it's got native 1080p and a allegedly more powerful processor.
How much better do you think the PS4 could look like ? Seriously ?
Unless Sony comes up with a 2160p SUPER HD TV and a PS4 with such graphic power to try to sell it to us,the PS4 will ONLY look slightly better then the Wii U on a 1080p display. There is no way that they could output something so much better that puts the Wii U to shame.
Surely the PS4 will be even more powerful ( when it comes out ) , so maybe better physics and improved A.I, but there is only so much that they can do on current TVs. Honestly what do you expect, to play a movie ?
PCs could do better because we already have monitors with 4096×2160 at merely inches from our nose, but on a TV.....oh well.
Like I said, on current TVs there only so much that can be done graphic wise, like 20 years ago you couldn't do much better then the SNES/GENESIS at home.
I'll be very happy with the Wii U and it's exclusive games, and I really wanna play the next CoD on it.

Let me add something:
DO you remember last gen, like GC vs PS2 vs Xbox ?
The three system were very similar, games could be ported over easily, and they all looked pretty much the same, although the xbox was slightly more powerful, often resulting in multiplatform games being smoother and more polished compared to a PS2.
But everything that could be done on the xbox, could be done on the PS2 and GC and viceversa.
In the end, games played almost the same on the 3 platforms with the only difference that some kind of games were better suited for a type of controller, which was the user matter of preference anyway.
That's the kind of difference I expect from the PS4/720 to Wii U, only marginal.

The Wii was at such a disadvantage this gen because Nintendo didn't include HD graphic and HDMI outputs, since at the time they believed that still most of the household would stick with SD TVs for a few more years.
Then everybody started getting reasonably priced HD LCD TVs, and unfortunately the Wii looks what it looks on HDTVs......
Next generation will finally put all the system on the same level again, and so the games and the controller innovations will make the difference between platforms.

No PS4/720 will blow the Wii U out of the water, you' ll see

We always say "games can't look any better!" but they always seem to. I remember people thinking games couldn't look any better than when the Source engine game out. Nowadays you look at the Source engine and it looks kinda dated. Even PS3 launch titles look pretty meh now. Remember this?

They cannot possibly look much better then the Wii U while we still have 1080p HDTVs.
PS4 games will look marginally better, but clearly, a jump like PS1>PS2 or even PS2>PS3 is no longer possible, not on current TV sets.
So at the most, the PS4 could be to the Wii U like the PS2 was to the DC.
Don't expect any miracles, unless Sony gets those 2160p HDTVs out ( which will cost some pretty penny, for sure ).
Imagine Uncharted 3 smoother, bigger and with better A.I, that's the most you're gonna get out of any consoles.
And if you wanna guess what the PS4 will be like, take a look at a hi end PC these days and see what graphics look like, but then again , hook that PC to a 1080p TvV and take a screenshot, how much better then an actual PS3 do you think it's gonna look like ?
Believe me, graphics are pushed as much as they can go, next step will have to be holographic or some other shit to impress us.

That's not really true. Movies at 720p still look visibly better than games at 1080p. There's a lot of room for improvement even at the current resolution.

Hmm, I don`t get that really... It`s not like Nintendo is playing with its competitors to force them on their me-too-actions. They just do what they do!

Also they don`t abandon their older philosophy. They just adapt it to the current market, so they can reach all consumers (yes, even the graphic-whores ) and also have the ability and architecture to also have third parties to port their big title to their console.

I have so many friends, that are saying that when they`ll get a similar experience of FIFA11 and CoD:BO on a Nintendo console with Nintendos first party support they will immediately change over to the WiiU so in the end I think their plan could work.

I don`t see how this is trolling...
