avenged seven fold rules man but yeah i understand about people trying to MAKE you listen to something, just ignore i guess

omg i've always had this problem too. i always used to watch my animes in secret when i was a teen but now i watch bloody, serious animes when people are around and save the other good stuff for when they aren't. that is also exactly what i did with my tv. although, it was due to netflix being great and our shitty monopoly in california called "time warner" being...well, shitty.

edit: as for the music thing, if you listen to it and it makes you feel good, listen to it. people make fun of my music alllllllll the time (i listen to lamb of god and system of a down) yet they are soothing and put me to sleep when i have insomnia. its not the music itself that's important, it's the person listening to it

Try Netflix? You can stream to a bunch of devices, and portable ones too, like iPods and 3DSs.

well i "forced" some ppl from my sports club to listn to my Japanese music cuz they were allways like "this ching chang chong crap is shit" and when they finaly listned to it 2 of the 3 even turned the volume up and said it was totaly different from what they imagined XD

here in Germany EVERYTHING the Americans do is great ... even if some "star" would kill people it would be "cool" while everything the asians do is crap even if its helping us or whoever ... its all crap they do -.-V

It's pretty much lack of knowledge that causes people to make comments like that. Next time someone says anime is for kids, turn on Afro Samurai and they won't think that for long.

As for music, I recommend headphones or find a way to get those you know to accept your musical tastes.

Turn on When They Cry or Umineko No Naku Koro Ni (When the Seagulls Cry).
Yeah. I'd love anyone to say anime is for kids after watching either of those.

I don't think i've ever even seen a kids anime. Granted, I put anime through a rather harsh filtering process so I don't watch any crap...since there's a lot of it.

I guess it depends on where you are. I'm rather open about my Magic the Gathering playing and Star Trek loving but I never get crap for it. In fact, I've never really been laughed at because of what I do.

I wouldn''t really care otherwise, but my family doesn't think that because I do a "no holds barred" type thing, I watch what I want around them, and since ecchi is in some of them they know it's not always for kids.

I agree with headphones, different people like different music, just keep it to yourself and only share it with other people who like your kind of music

In a way I kinda did.

She sometimes writes on our little board thing saying that I like powerpuff girls (Couldn't get anymore childish) So I just wrote "When is next ep".

She doesn't pay mind to it :/.

And I do have headphones on when I listen to music, but she deliberately listens to it and saids that the music is crap.

It's not that I don't care, it's that I wish they just shut up for once.
