ds opinions

it really depends on what type of gamer you are
each one has their own pros and cons

for me it's probably 51/49 in favor of PSP

But fanboys will never see the light

im not saying the ds is better i just want him to know that the ds is a good handheld and it has great games because he says it's 100 percent crap and he says i'm not a gamer because i have one o.0

As for the topic, in my opinion, there's no right or wrong. If both systems had exactly the same titles you could have a point of comparison and declare a winner. I have both a DS and a PSP now and each of them have their own games and capabilities.

As a side note, how can people appreciate gaming when they fight over the system it's on in the first place?

am i really wanting to say the ds is better?
i just want him to realise that the ds is a respectable handheld and not a piece of shit
and i asked here because he said that all gamers think the same as him and i wanted to prove him wrong
and i am aware that they have their own titles and capabilities or else i wouldn't own both

Oh, in that case, then show him some of the DS's highlights, like 999, FFTA2, Golden Sun, and games from the Shin Megami Tensei series, like Strange Journey.

Its pointless doing this, both systems are great.
DS has awesome titles like Ghost Trick, 999, TWEWY etc. that the PSP doesn't, while the PSP has awesomeness like Dissidia, P3P, Peace Walker etc. that the DS doesn't.
Both have their own shining gems.
I used to think DS was better, but once my DS died i bought the PSP, and now i appreciate them both for the sheer amount of fun both can provide.

he plays mostly fighting games

Ah... Well, the DS really doesn't have any fighting games, so I don't think it would even be the right fit for him.

The 3DS does, however.

The way you describe him, he sounds really biased, so you shouldn't really explain things to him. He won't accept it anyways.

I use both. They are both good devices but I hardly use the PSP for anything more than emulation. A brother of mine seems to enjoy the PSP titles though.

he thinks of the 3ds even worse since the marketing is a bit bad but i'll show him games on my 3ds like street fighter and oot
but i hopefully if i show him enough good games he'll respect the ds/3ds and stop trolling about it

Anyone who thinks a console or handheld is gender specific is a moron. The games define a console/handheld, not the name or manufacturer.

For once I actually agree with you...I think Hell must have just frozen over...

Just like Michael Jackson said, it doesn't matter who's wrong or right.

I would not say your friend is right but almost. this is Nintendo marketplace after all, aim to mainstream "casual" and kids while sony is more into the "core gamers" and hardware junkies

Being 31 old you can guess i don"t have much time to waste on most Ds games, of course there are those games for my audience and i appreciate them greatly (specially SMT strange journey and 999)
but even to me when i think Ds i picture my little niece bugging me to check on new releases for more and more imagine games, hello kitty and so on.. also the PSP is a powerful device with amazing emulation capabilities, touch screen never appealed to me i hated the Zelda games for that hell i could not even PLAY them for that reason -_-'

And that conclude my opinion ^^
