Stuff and Such

Outside of the norm for my rather terrible blogs, I'm going to post in horrific bullet points. Instead of bullets though, I'm using dashes since I suck at the whole snippets of information thing.

THE STUFF

- School starts again in about a month. OH MAH GAWD SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL, but no really, it is kind of exciting in a weird way. I have so much to do in the coming months. It isn't going to be fun.

- So far, I'm really impressed with the progress in DScraft/MinecraftDS/whatever you want to call it. I am happy to have gotten the chance to test. Speaking of which, I still need to wrap up exploring and building some. I need to stop making the game crash first though.

- My personal income has come to a grinding halt. As a result, I tossed my SNES up for sale in the Want To Sell section of the forum. Since I'll likely have to spend my own cash on the SAT, I have to figure something out.

- Speaking of my income, I'm disappointed that the Vita was pushed back. I was hoping to maybe receive one as a gift in the holiday time (my birthday falls not far before Christmas, so two chances there). Sony effectively ruined that though and pushed me back in the realm of not getting one until I'm 20.

- Cats annoy me. I mean, I like them to a certain extent, when they are being all cuddly and such, but they suck when they want to play. I got slashed really good by the cat that likes to sleep on my bed about a week back and am still not 100% healed back up all because we were gently playing, and she lashed out hard. The same cat scratched me between my last two toes on my left foot too. That one isn't as bad, but I still bled for a few minutes. Not gushing, but it took its time clotting. Other cats around here have given me other light scratches that haven't bled, but damn do they sting when they first happen. Oh, and I have minor cat allergies that can get kind of blindingly bad. Certain cats can really set it off. My eyes get itchy, then if I rub them without washing my hands after petting a cat, they get more itchy, then they start getting red and puffy the more I rub them, to the point that it looks like my eyes are terribly infected after too long. It can take awhile to fix itself too. Sometimes I have to wait about two hours for my eyes to go back down to normal size and regain normal color.

- I'm a dog person.

THE SUCH

- I hate you Fable 3. Making me gold grind for millions upon millions of gold just because I decided to be a good guy is BS. They should eventually make it a point to make it worth being the good guy in these games. Both Fable 2 and Fable 3 have proven that I might as well not bother and just be evil. 1.2 million gold down, about 7 million to go (you know, to ensure funding is good to go). I'm just letting the game sit at this point to gather income. I bought every building in the world that you can purchase, so now I'm playing the waiting game as my income stacks up. About 90k gold every five minutes is helpful, but it won't let me hit my goal quickly. The jobs just suck though. I don't know if it's because I'm playing in standard definition, or if it's because the game is just glitchy as hell, but jobs tend to lag terribly at the worst times and totally annihilate your multiplier. After that happens a few times in a row after hitting a 10x multiplier, you get a little annoyed. Of course, it's either this, or let everybody in Albion die and leave me in one empty post game world.

- FFV has left me stuck at the first battle against Exdeath. My party sucks poop. Not level wise. Level wise, I would be ready for the end game with an adequate party. This damn challenge is sapping my motivation though. The prospect of level grinding yet again is just horrendous to consider after the four hours I put into level grinding to be the Archeoaevis.

- FFI on the PSP is freaking gorgeous. The game is very gil grindy to keep the spells flowing, even for just my White Mage (I didn't bother with a Black Mage...blame FFV). It's nice to know that they did nothing for direction on where to go in the PSP version either. Keeps it feeling old school even with the shiny new graphics.

- This computer makes me rage. No WinRAR or 7z or anything like that for decompression of certain files, no .NET Framework so that leaves me at a loss for the only patching program available for the DS at this point, and the internet overall is worse than the DSL I had back at home. Fuck you cable internet, you're worse than I remember. In the long run, I actually miss that old computer with the dying HDD that I used to spend my days on. I need a laptop.

I was just going to use this to rage about Fable 3, then I remembered that I had stuff to actually be happy about too (no matter how few they may be at this very point in time). Then I remembered other things that made me angry. Thus, a mixed bag was born.
