Men's toiletries

OK, bear with me here. If you live with a female (Your girlfriend, wife, mum, carer) go to the bathroom and have a look at their products. Right, what do they smell like? Lemon, strawberries, kiwi, jasmine. Simple, right? Women have this shit sorted. Go to the shops, look at the shampoo. This one's orange. It has a picture of an orange on it and it's called orange crush or something. Like oranges? Want to smell like oranges? This shit's for you. Don't like oranges? No problem, try the strawberry and raspberry one next to it, pet.

Now what scents do your multi-purpose clean-everything body washes have? I'll tell you what they smell like, you have no fucking idea, because your stuff isn't called "Lemon body wash" it's called stuff like "Excite" "Fever" "Instinct" and "Ocean Spray." Things that don't fucking smell of anything. Well, apart from ocean spray maybe. And as someone who lives by the sea I can tell you if ocean spray smells of anything at all it's sewage or seaweed.

So when I'm in a shop, because I don't want to stand there like a pillock sniffing every bottle to see if Power Wave smells like menthol or grapefruit I just end up picking the yellow one. Because at least you know that's usually some kind of citrus stuff. But they can't call it citrus in case people go "What, citrus? Like, oranges and lemons and that? I don't want to smell like fruit, what do you think I am, some kind of hurmasex? I wanna smell like Sharp Edge!"

They might as well just be honest and call the scents "Teenage Desperation" or "Rapist's Choice" seeing as the naming conventions seem to be tied in with the whole marketing angle of targeting those groups.

Wait what, it's always been TMNT ;A;

At least...I think it has
No...it was definitely Ninja Turtles, not Hero Turtles when I was still living in the UK...

Oooo, that one.
I never payed attention to the name of that one.
I watched the re-runs when I was like...I dunno, little :3

Anyways, that's so stoopid :|

Good memories though ^^

I use any shampoo, I really don't care what it smells like, whatever's on offer I guess, Deodorant wise I just get any Lynx ( Or Axe for the Yanks ) as I know they work :P

As for Cologne I have a few , CK : One ( because smelling of numbers is cool ), Joop!: Homme ( I like to also smell like a man, because the look might not give it away ) and Davidoff : Cool Water ( Because normal temperature water just don't cut it )

I use Head&Shoulders. They dont smell like a head or your shoulder for sure lol. And when im out of them, then yes i most likely use womans one because i actually like the smell of fruits :)

I've never heard of Teenage Mutant Nina Turtle being called Teenage Mutant Hero turtles.
They were always called that when I was a kid. Then again, I am 30 and they did change them to ninja later on. At the time I think it was worries about "ninja" being violent murderers with swords and shit.

Does what it says on the tin :)
Doesn't taste anything like chocolate. :glare:

Please video it.
Please.

I remember that; they changed it because of the apparent violent connotation of "ninja".
I use Old Spice Fiji... kind of weird, if that's what Fiji smells like, I don't really wanna go.
I have that.
Doesn't really make you smell like Figi. Makes you smell like an awesome half-clothed black guy.
On a horse.

So if Ninja became Hero in the UK due to violent connotations, I suppose the same might be true of Axe becoming Lynx.
(Honestly I like the name Lynx better)

Haha, you make a good point. Women's toiletries or w/e you call them do smell pretty nice!

Although I do have a confession. I sometimes use an Old Spice (for men) deodorant. It smells good :<

I don't know about you all, and depending on age I suppose... But neither me, my girlfriend (or my ex-girlfriend either) like the smell of any axe/lynx product... They smell too much.

And as soon as we sense someone using axe, we think "cheap"... It smells cheap and stuff... and at least here in Sweden (or the part of Sweden where I live at least), it's more popular amongst young guys ( ~15 ) to use axe.....

Your thoughts?

If you don't smother yourself in the stuff it's fine and serves it's purpose, but I agree completely when certain stereotyped teenagers in burberry caps walk past me in the street stinking of the stuff - wtf, did you use the entire contents in one go?!

Suppose it doesn't matter when they're not paying for it :glare:

@jamesaa: Oh, that last part about not paying... reminds me of certain young people here who drench themselves in the in-store samples of expensive perfumes... geez...

And yeah, it's way worse when people use too much of anything, but I just don't like the general smell of axe over all.. as in, I don't like that africa smell, or that frenzy, fire, cool, twist, fiji, hawaii, sock on my head, rapists choice smell :P They all have this something in common... Can't pin point it but I prefer the more subtle scents of the more expensive ones..

i just rub on some baking soda and whatever herbs i got in the kitchen...

If I did that, I'd always smell like a fresh roasted chicken, lol.

Perhaps not a bad move.

Axe reeks too much of alcohol for it to even remotely resemble anything nice smellling.

I use a lil' old spice.

I usually avoid the yellow ones as it reminds me of piss in a bottle for some reason...

Yes, maybe it's the alcohol I'm sensing... I wonder if it's more alcohol in the Swedish version, since it seems so popular outside Sweden...

Axe is basically boycotted in our town bcuz some kid who was high lit some porta-potties on fire w/ it lol

On-Topic: I have been using some swimming shampoo that smells like fruit and the bottle is colored white. As for deoderant some random Dove stuff w/ light green cap + white tube?
I think it was posted on page 2/3

Agreed. I primarily use cologne as my body-scent of choice now (not drenching myself, just a few squirts). I use Grey Flannel, Aspen, or Roca Wear 9. They're all cheap but smell damn good. Especially the Grey Flannel.

Edit - on topic, this older lady I work with, one day someone else I work with noticed her perfume and says "god who smells like an old lady?" She was like "pfft it's probably me" and he said "oh shit I didnt mean it like that". She laughed (we're a pretty tight crew (most of us) at Target, lol), and another girl we worked with asked what perfume she was wearing. She replied with Satisfaction from Beyonce.

So yeah, we have guys smelling like Africa, and old ladies smelling like Satisfaction. FUCKIN GREEEAT.
