Rainpocalpyse 2011: The Rainageddon

Yeah, so I live in New Jersey and there's hella amounts of rain. My backyard was flooded and the bridge across the damage ditch uprooted (a very small bridge, mind you). Oh, and there's a small bit of water in the basement from a brief time when the drain was off.

But the power has never gone out (occasionally flickered, but never out), the water has receded, and now it's just wet and shitty looking outside. But no damage, no harm done.

Though y'all should know. For the record I'm northwestern NJ (like 20 minutes from Pennsylvania), not the shore.

Also, the power keeps flickering (not going out, but farting out for a split second) and it's becoming a bitch to type things like this. Luckily Firefox saved a majority of this blog so I was able to finish.

We've had a fucktonne of rain here in the UK too. So much so that our bathroom ceiling has collapsed into the bath. Joy :glare:

Yeah, my sister, mother, and grandmother are going to NY.....

.......luckily, that's next week :D

The rain for the OP is because of a HURRICANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :3

But no, really, if rain was that bad for him and where he is, it's gonna suck for those even closer that aren't really in the direct path.

I had that problem too, Guild, where my power flickered a lot throughout the night.

Also
The road looked like a flume ride at an amusement park.
The storm's gone, but it's windy as all hell here, now.

Also in NJ, only about 10 or so minutes away from Guild. While the storm came through where I live, my house was basically untouched. From what I'm hearing about other people who live nearby, I got pretty lucky.

Bitch, you live up the street from me. How could you not see the flooding in the streets?

Yeah, the street resembled a river, at times. But I imagine it was like that everywhere anyway, so that's not a huge deal, really.

I said my house was untouched, not, "A hurricane didn't pass by." Foo.

A tree fell and nearly crushed my pig's pen. The bugger was the largest one in the yard too, at least 80 feet. Water rushed through the walls of my basement and made for a nasty flood, luckily me and my folks got everything out in time. Now it's all a matter of waiting out the water and hoping it doesn't break our sub-pump.

Yikes.
No offense, but it seems like everything bad that could happen does happen to you.

There's a crater in my backyard and a giant oak about to knock down about ten more trees.

But hey, at least I'm still charming.

Something of a smaller scale happens every year here. Just right now we have 3 typhoons in a row.
