It IS very true. It seems big-time developers have forgotten that gamers want not only elaborate games like RPG's, FPS's and simulations all the time, sometimes we want a simple FUN game to play, not a drawn-out story that is just merely interesting, or a tedious hours-to-complete saga. Sometimes, we just want to go, "Woo Woo!" while playing a game. Sometimes we just want a play-until-your-3-lives-are-gone type of game that is otherwise infinite in its playtime as long as you don't die. Many of those kinds of games that DO come out lack the actual FUN and games such as what I just described have become quite rare....especially on the DS.
So now their are regular Joe's with a little programming skill that have to make the FUN games themselves, and they do it in Flash games.
freaking flash games are awesome.
i spent more time playing the hapland and other similar point and click games (crimson room anyone?) than i actually did on classwork.
Meh. I don't play flash games pretty much at all, with the exception of N+ on the DS (since its just a flash game ported over). I don't even play them in class - my computers teacher lets us play games like Halo, StarCraft ect off flashdrives. I just play Halo (custom edition) though.
VR had the chance to integrate with existing games and tech but VR companies said "NO, I WANT MY SHIT TO BE STANDALONE AND MY GAMES EXCLUSIVE TO FACEBOOK"
Back when Oculus Rift was still starting out and being demoed around, they modded existing games to use it as a 360° immersive screen thing and that was AMAZING.
The tech isn't there for affordable power enough VR headsets at a good market value yet sadly, oculus had a good idea but didn't have enough funds for marketing iirc
But now it's "can I use my VR set with my racing games, that would be neat?" "ONLY IF YOU USE OUR DILDOSTICK CONTROLLERS AND RUN THE GAME ON OUR ANDROID-UNDERPOWERED BRICK"
These are the same type of gamers that spend $2,000 on a GPU when a $600 GPU gives nearly the same outcome which is what the market looks at for them to do spend more on unneeded bs
