Oh FFS, really? Tubing? Loser. Even though you're a GBAtemp member, I still dislike you. Tubing is just wrong and overpowered. In BLOPS it's fixed by the way, have fun tubing there, you won't get many kills there.

i tried the OFFICIAL game via steam - seriously i can't begin to tell you how many lobbies i just drop out from crappy connection issues

The MOST appeling thing with aIW is the dedicated servers - yeah servers for mw2

No more host lag / dominance

Good for keeping the hackers away as well

With all honesty it's how MW2 should have been on steam

Try the dedicated servers - the matchmaking servers of aIW can be absolutely dreadful sometimes

aIW could be much better, but as Satangel already said the Mods and Devs are very arrogant, and somewhat lazy (then again it's for free so we can't complain so much). They were going to integrate the game with Flux - a back-end for the game , so much like a steam-ingame for it , but they had an argument with the dev of flux and the whole project was dropped - and then AlterOps came along.

i can probably get into the AlterOps closed beta - my account sign-up date on their forums allows me to, but i don't have enough forum posts

Matchmaking has been fine for me so far, when I went on the server list it was mostly search and destroy which I'm not all that into. I went on the "..::WIZONE::.. 24/7 TDM [B3]" server but it was deserted

I play aIWnet too .
Although I haven't prestiged, I don't have a proper mouse to play with yet (I'm on a laptop)

That's indeed pretty decent! I don't think I've encountered a lot of those things when I respawn. It's possible perhaps, but it's not really frequent on the servers I play. It's possible you just picked a 'weird' server, with some freaky mods.

About 30% of the servers are S&D, but there are still a lot of servers with other gamemodes. I have always found a server that meets my expectations, just pick another one

Get a MX518, it's cheap and has superb quality. I have it too, you can map the extra buttons to stun grenades and the knife attack. Epic advantage!

Haha you're making me laugh, for me however, games are not status. So that means I play however I want. And don't you think it's kind of sad that you acutally dislike random people because they play games in a different way?
Anyway, don't get the wrong impression, my k/d is about 1.5 on blops on the PS3 (stopped playing a while ago though).

Games aren't a status IMHO, they are a way to have fun, fun with everybody.
And when you Tube you basically ruin it for everyone else. That's what you are doing.

Nah, every team deathmatch round I've played in whatever server I was on. I don't know if I was playing on hardcore though, I probably was because I prefer hardcore to softcore CoD.
That's funny though, I don't really notice the short games in MW2.
As far as my skills go: I'm happy if I can get an airstrike... not really good at it, but I play for fun. The FAL is pretty cool in hardcore, so I use that the most. Also, running around with a simple pistol is awesome.

Removed my stats today and started playing, first match was 19/12, second was 38/14. Got lucky there with a chopper gunner from a crate, was pretty awesome to use it for once.
Either the others where pretty bad, or I was doing better than normal. I guess the first...

Very good for a beginner. It's obvious you have played some FPS games in your life.
I have the same feeling about Chopper Gunners and AC130. When you use it, it's all fine. But when you get slaughtered by them, you hate them with a passion. Luckily just about every level has places that make it able to not get shot by any killstreak. Perhaps Rust is the only level where there is no place at all where you're completely safe.

"Some". Quite a lot actually, but I've never been really good at any of them. Perhaps I'm just getting better at things.
I used to play Rust in FFA servers with 18 people inside. Pretty cool but constantly getting spawnkilled is not funny, getting a streak reward in Rust would be awesome though. Too bad, I'd never have enough luck.
In the second match, some guy went bitching that I was a "Final Stand coward", even though that was the first time I'd used it at all, I unlocked it in-game for the class I was using at the moment; in the same match.

Or you just change your class to a class with Cold Blooded, Sleight of Hand and a Stinger, and kill it. Very easy way to gain XP. A Chopper Gunner / AC nets you 400 XP I think.

Rust 18-man is deadly, especially when they also have killstreaks enabled! I recommend playing on Old Gits Having Fun, they have 3 servers I think and one of them rotates between Carnival, Scrapyard and Rust. 16 players FFA I think. NO KILLSTREAKS, and GL is also disabled
I think it's actually HC with GUI.

I sometimes win on that server, without any form of spawncamping. I have a special class for it An RPD with FMJ and Grip, Akimbo G18 with Extended mags. First perk is Bling Pro, 2nd is Stopping Power Pro and 3rd is Steady Aim Pro.
Deathstreak is Martyrdom, which is actually bloody handy in Rust FFA. Try it sometimes.
RPD with FMJ AND Stopping Power makes it an absolute beast, one shot one kill, always Even through little carton boards.

I can remember playing on an Old Gits Having Fun server, but it wasn't anything special. Not being able to set favorites is a shame because it makes settling in a community quite hard.

I've prestiged again 2 days ago, just letting you guys know I haven't been able to upload a screenshot though, I'll do it later on.

And this is where it ends, Prestige 8 I think....
