Getting sick, don't want to miss work.

Everyone in the house has been sick so far, but not me. Of course, now that everyone is getting better, I'm starting to feel it now. I work tomorrow, and I really don't want to miss work, but I REALLY don't want to be miserable either. . any ideas on how to maybe stay decent for work the next day? Cheezy home remedies? tips? Anything would help.

Thanks in advance, buddies.

Can't help you, but sweet signature. I had to look it up, and was surprised at what I found. I love this kinda stuff, so I can't believe I've never heard of it.

Thanks!

Ah, good point. Well assuming I got the same thing as my girlfriend and her mom, it's a bad cough, headache (or head feeling light / heavy at times), the sniffles, feverish (really high to really low temperatues) and nausea.

Again, I'm not looking to MISS work, I just want a bit of advice, maybe some tips on what could help me not feel super sick during work so I don't dread it fully.

Drink lots of orange juice and bring things like Ibuprofen to your job. That seems to be all you can do now.

Ibuprofin helps a lot. Alternate it with acetaminophen, but not with aspirin.

Herbal teas help you to fight the disease rather than just mask the symptoms.

Suuuucks :( We're actually not allowed. They check our bags before we start work and before we leave. :(

Ow, sounds like a horrible job. Try to sneak it in?

Bring teas, like what Linki said.

Stuff teabags down your pants. If your boss reaches down there to grab them, well, let's say you've got a bigger problem than a cold, pal :creep:

but srsly, the things I've always found to help me with colds and cold-likes (because I seem to constantly have them) are a little rest and just warm liquids overall.

Green tea has healed me fast many a time, or at least it felt that way.

i second that .
i'm not quite sure how they do it ,
but they slice ginger and just put it in a pot and warm it . if you don't really like the taste of it or it's too strong , you can add a little sugar to give it a sweet taste while maintaining the herbal goodness .

get lots of rest , drink lots of fluids [water especially] and that's it .
i despise getting sick , so i try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables that hold different vitamins [eg. oranges = vitamin c , papaya = anti-oxidants , mango = fiber , banana = potassium , squash + carrots = vitamin a]
not saying you have to eat all of them , just alternate between them !

Awesome. I appreciate the advice. Sadly, I called in work because I woke up late (due to being sick), but my boss actually said they don't need me today and I should get some rest. (of course, that pisses me off, 'cause I need the money, but oh well, shouldn't of woken up late.)

I'm going to try all of these, though. :) Hopefully I'll feel better by tomorrow!!! Thanks guys.
