Hey guys, I just got a bank account about 4 hours ago and wanted to tell you, its pretty neat. I can't wait to see how my money stacks up over the years!
I remember getting my first bank account when I was 18. I was so excited. I used my debit card for the first time, and the cashier asked if I wanted cashback. I had no idea what it meant so I agreed (it sounded good). She asked how much I wanted, and I asked how much I could have. She said "£50". So I asked for £50. It was only when I got home and explained to my sister that I had spent £10 and somehow magically got free £50 back that she told me that £50 came out of my bank account
Also though I do agree on borrowing money being something to very seriously consider any time you do it I do have to say the US and Canada to a slightly lesser extent (it also has some better privacy laws for it) do like their credit checks ( http://www.fcac-acfc.gc.ca/Eng/resources/publications/creditLoans/Pages/Understa-Comprend.aspx ). Not using any credit does not necessarily make for a better score.
You probably want to get PayPal at one point. Hint: Do not store any credit in your PayPal account. If you have money there, immediately transfer it to your bank account. That way they don't have control over your money and can't withhold it for any reason.
I've been using my debit card since I was 13 lol. Much more convenient than cash. Don't go on a spending spree though, it's always better to save your money for something you really want.

I found it funny cause many many years ago, had a roommate in college that did this same dumbass branding of the school logo, but it didn't look anything like it after it healed. Just looked like a birthmark.
