How is nintendo switch online gaming?

Well I had a switch since day one, but no i have not purchased a game that features online play yet. I want to try and get into the idea of playing with other people even if it means online. You probably know I'm socially inept, though I am not trying to seem harsh about it but well things don't always work out well. Bottom line is that I was thinking about trying to play with some people here, people I know and trust rather than complete strangers. So if you all can share some experiences with how well the functionality of the games are online, that be nice.

Below is a list of games I want to get but don't have yet.

Puyo Puyo Tetris

I know, I made a few post about it before, one which was a blog post just sharing experiences with it. Honestly, is a kind of LOVE/HATE game for me. I like it cause is probably the only kind of puzzle game I had interest in but is not easy game to learn, but I have been trying to as you can see here. https://gbatemp.net/entry/learning-puyo-puyo.12757/

Still, even though I don't consider myself good enough for the people dedicated to playing it, is a fun party game to pick up and play every so often even for casual, and my brother also likes tetris, so it would be two games in one for both of us to enjoy. :)

Ultra Street Fighter 2

What can i say, I like me some classic street fighter, is one of the games i had playing on SNES/Famicom and Genesis/Megadrive. It has what made capcom spawn a number of different sequels and spinoffs and also playable in the palm of my hand. While I probably won't buy it for most of the extra content like that JOY CON ONLY MOTION CONTROL MODE, is nice to have even if is probably a over 20 year old game once again given attention for some reason. :ninja:

Super Bomberman R

This is one I wasn't sure of at first, I didn't know about the game until after the switch was released and I didn't hear very good things about it, but is bomberman right? How can a party game like that ruin the multiplayer mode right? Unless Konami somehow did. Not sure if this is worth adding only during a bargain of some kind. But if anyone wish to enlighten me then please do. :)

Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Okay I didn't have the wii u game despite owning a wii u, so I guess I really had no excuse not to own this game. But you know, again wasn't sure about the way it would play online until I heard feedback. I was definitely gonna get it to play with my family but just wanted to be sure what I was buying it for, was it gonna be just me, me and my fam or me and the online community? :P

ARMS

I dunno much to say about this game. I said it before but I'll say it again. "It looks like someone ruined punch out!!" :P
But all kidding aside, this probably is a debating game. Some people don't like it and some do, once the game launched I saw people play it, broadcast it, live stream it and even upload videos, now is like all dead all of a sudden. Not sure if nintendo shot themself with this game or is it just taking awhile to deliver more content for the price of $60. Still during my time on the "Global testpunch" i find it function very well and some updates like controller modification could be a step in the better direction along with hopefully more characters and game modes. Another party game for casuals or fun with friends online? Not sure but I kinda want this, I'll either wait for more news or just a bargain.

Splatoon 2

Another game with similar story like ARMS. I didn't play the one on wii u. I tried the global test thing before and while I was playing, it wasn't the mind boggling thing I saw in trailers. I'm not gonna say is bad, I guess I wasn't really good at the team based 3rd person shooting game, it played something similar to Team fortress 2 (Without the unique abilities) and more like Uncharted (Without the hiding behind walls) I don't really know how to explain it but I wish I had more time to give it more of a chance, the 1 hour limit wasn't much compared to a full weekend, the updates seem interesting but like any team based game requires a good communication with teammates and also a fun community, so any info would be nice. :)

Well so far those are the games that I wanted with multiplayer modes. I only have 5 games for my switch and none of them have online. So if anyone here who owns them and played them online, can you share some insight. Also if you was wondering why I didn't mention pokken tournament, well I just didn't find it my thing even for liking fighting games or from the demo I played. I see there was improvements like 2 player local play (That probably should have been on wii u in the first place if it wasn't cause I never heard that it was) More characters and some other things. I don't want people sounding upset about my thoughts of how i view the games, I want to give them a chance, just what I currently know hasn't pushed me enough to actually buy them. I appreciate any help.

I'll speak on the two games from your list that I own.

Mario Kart 8 ----
Fantastic online play! The best out of any Nintendo game to date. I don't have Deluxe but I did buy the Wii U version and I played online to death. You get all the normal racing and battle goodness, but you also get private matches, tournaments, custom game lobbies, the whole nine yards. It's definitely Nintendo's best stab at online play.

Splatoon 2 ----
Honestly, this game is not for everyone, but I've bought both Splatoons now and I love it. Really, though, the matchmaking could use work. You can't leave a lobby after joining it, there's no voice chat and communication options are limited, you can't form parties with friends and instead have to click "join game" and hope your friend's match isn't full (and you can only join friends in normal Turf War...), among other transgressions. It's a fun game, but jeez does Nintendo need to work on the consistency of their online experience. If you can get past these issues and the gameplay's appealing to you, then it's a fantastic game. I've had plenty of fun to justify the $47 I paid for it.

So as a update, I managed to get a order of Puyo Puyo tetris on nintendo switch. It should be here next week. Honestly I'm kinda nervous to play it but I don't mind playing with some people. Don't expect me to be super good or put up a good challenge. I did play Dr.Robotnik Mean bean machine on the sega compilation disc on easy, I got the trophy to prove it. But if anyone happens to wanna try it with me, just leave your friend code below and a time you may be available to play. (Or I should just have a discord group for scheduling people.) Seriously, nintendo not having a invite function is just so awful in 2017. :ninja:

I'm pretty excited for the new doom on switch, never got a chance to play that and doom is one of my favourite franchises... or at least the first three are.

I got a copy of Puyo Puyo Tetris. I have to say I'm very impressed with the game and regret not getting it sooner. I still not very good at either of the two games independently, but the vast replay value makes it a good collectable to the switch or any of the consoles is been made for. :toot:

Sadly enough the game's english version only exist on PS4 and switch, meanwhile is been out in japan since 2014 on ps3, wii u, 3ds, psvita and xbox. I'm a bit upset about that since i didn't see any reason for that huge delay in time for the english release but if you happen to like either of those games, this recent one might be the most definitive version of each one you can get.

The real kicker is the replay mode, allowing you to watch other player's games they upload, is nice but kinda wish there was a spectator lobby mode. I was almost ready to twitch stream the game with viewers to watch replays with and play against (if i stand a chance, there so many op players.) If anyone has comments to add to the game, by all means please do. :P

Next game to try is Ultra Street Fighter 2 The Final Challengers. It should be here soon, if anyone owns the game, please share your friend codes with me if you wish to play. I would like to find some people to see how well the network works. My peak specs from my test is less than 10 MS ping, up to 50MBPS download and 15MBPS upload on B Nat type. Those should be acceptable for all games, as I noticed no problems with the two global test of arms and splatoon 2. :)
