Well I had decided to wait to get the DSi until a decent hack was available. Every day/night since the release date, I've been wondering if I made the right choice. Well yesterday I decided to go ahead and get one, being that today was the last day for the $90 DS Lite trade-in deal at GameCrazy. I recently found a GameCrazy exactly (according to Mapquest) 3 miles from my house. Since it was so close I featured it would be quicker to bike there instead of taking the bus (Saturday schedules suck here). So I grabbed my DS made for I had everything and left. Look me about 20 mins (bus would have taken about 45 mins) to get there being more than half the ride was uphill.
I get there and get ready to buy the DSi and the guy checks my DS Lite. He tells me everything is ready to go and all he needs is the charger. Arrrrrrrrrgh!! I forgot it, how did that happen! So I had to ride all the way back and get the charger. I was a breeze since it was pretty much all downhill (took about 15 mins). I wasn't planning on buying a game, but I had to wait for awhile both times due to other customers. So I ended up browsing the selection. As I thought about it, I noticed I wouldn't be able to use my M3, so I got GTA: Chinatown Wars since it is such an awesome game! The guy kept trying to get me to buy other useless things like warranties and such. He even tried to get me to get a PSP. He didn't say so, but I knew his game. It was quite annoying, but I guess that's his job. He did seem offended when I told him I wanted to check the system before I walked out, so I guess we are even! :yayds:
Well I got home and the first thing I did was update the system and download the DSi Web Browser. So far I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The matte finish definiatley was a good choice compared to the smooth DS Lite. The music in the menus and other parts of the GUI are nice. I also noticed that it excepted my 4GB microSDHC (in a SD adaptor of course) straight out the box. I was pretty much certain there was ganna be a limit on it, nice one Nintendo! So I went ahead and converted my whole collection of mp3s (~2GB) to AAC (~3GB after convert) using iTunes and stick them in the DSi. I don't have any Apple products so I had to download it.
I haven't been keeping up with Wii activity for quite some time. It was my first time experiencing the online features so I found it pretty cool. It seems weird that you can actually buy DSi points through the DSi with a credit card. I'm still trying to grasp that fact. The DS was the last thing I thought I'll put my credit card number in. Overall I know I won't regret this decision. Anyone having doubts on whether to get one, I'll say go right ahead.
