I got a memorial plushie of my dog Nopey

Last month, my dog Nopey passed away after 16 amazing years of friendship. It's a loss that I know I won't ever fully heal from, but each day, the pain lessens, even just a tiny bit. The worst part is the lack of his presence in the house. and while I might want to adopt another dog one day, it's way too soon. So shortly after Nopey passed, and I had him cremated, I found this website that makes memorial plush toys of your dog. I'm admittedly a plushie fanatic, and something about having a stuffed toy that looked like my dog sounded like the best way to appreciate his impact on my life now that he's gone.

So I ordered from the website, called Cuddle Clones, who promised an identical lookalike scaled-down version of him. My biggest worry was that he wouldn't look quite right, or would look nothing more than like a Toys R Us min pin generic plush.

But I just got it in the mail today...and when I opened the box, it made me cry.

In a good way.

They made a really strikingly similar plushie of Nopey, down to identical leg markings and splotches of orange fur. It's even poseable. I'm so happy it came out as nice as it did. I also kind of wanted to share it with everyone here, after the huge amount of caring comments and well-wishes from the previous blog.

Oh my God that's too cute and perfect!! That plushie is gonna have a great story behind him too, so you can look fondly back on him and share memories with him while you proudly hold out the plushie as if to say "BY THE WAY DID YOU KNOW I BOUGHT THIS?"
11/10, great plushie

thats so rad. pets are ABSOLUTELY family too! 16 years is a long time to get to know ANY living thing. it can be hard to move on, but time will help. im really glad to hear that this plushie turned out the way it did.

on another note, is his name pronounced "no-pee"? i had a similar small dog before and they actually do pee a lot. :)

It is indeed No-pee lol. I came up with it the day we got him home. My parents were like “uh oh what do we call him” and I started saying random names trying to figure it out. It began with his “shelter” name Nikki, then Licky, Lopey, Dopey, Hopey, like that or something similar. Then the dog ran to the carpet to do his business, and as my dad yelled “NO DONT PEE NO PEE!!!” The name stuck hahaha.

There’s actually a dog called Nopey in those old Gumby cartoons, too, but I didn’t know that until after the fact.

With a coupon code I found, it was $200. Excessive for sure. But I’m honestly happy with it.

Soo... how do they make this happen eitherhow ?
(I don't think you just happened to have a 3D model of your dog laying around?)

Or was it jus pictures you sent em (seeing as it had already been cremated).

PS: There was only one dog - from my families side I liked. A cool appenzeller. All other dogs bore(d) me. Guess I'm a chosy bi*** even with doggos.

Hi friend,

I also had a dog during my entire childhood.
He was the brother I never had.

When he got very old he started to get some health problems. I have done all I could to give him a longer life.

When he passed away, I decided to make him a memorial. There is a pet graveyard on my country, and I rent a space for him.

I was delighted with your story. I didn't knew this company exists. Maybe one day I'll order my own pet plushie.

I never had any other dog..

Take care and sorry for your loss...

@notrea11y I had to send iirc 15 different pictures of my dog, each at different angles. That's how they got the exact details, down to his leg markings.

Nopey was the only dog I've liked--I used to be afraid of them as a kid before I got him. It helped he was more cat-looking than dog lol.

Toxic9, thank you for your story. It made me tear up. I'm glad you had such a lovely friend that meant so much to you too.

Honestly not as expensive as I thought considering the level of detail. The picture is very small, but from here it looks almost real. And the fabric isn't cheap.
