I Post Cringe Articles

Heya Tempers! Harv here. I went through my blog and found out that there were a few that I found cringe-worthy, i.e. I believed what I was saying was right, and I was very much misinformed. Here are the articles I think are the most cringey:

A Dedication to All My Fellow GBAtempers: I got caught up with all the religious fanatics about End-Times prophecy... which I now realize is flawed. I had been following a guy who said we were going to be raptured the next year based on his "research" (a very literal reading of the Bible which, come to find out, was fallable because the Bible is NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN SO LITERALLY!), so I made this dedication to prepare myself for what I thought was inevitable. While I do believe in a pre-trib rapture, even the strong possibility of one happening in my lifetime, I have learned the hard lesson of "Don't believe everything you watch on Youtube". I even roped my then-buddy Timbrwulf, who was less convinced about it as I was, into making a dedication on Discord, so he composed a message, and I copied and pasted it here (I don't know who all he was talking about, either). Even though we don't converse much now, I think he was right about having reservations... and now I just have this list of dedications for a rapture that never happened. Wow, how dumb can I be? (Don't answer that.)
A Lesson in Fear - An Apologetic's Point of View: Hoo-boy! How far did I put my foot in my mouth with this one? As with another article I'm about to mention, this one was purely based on word-of-mouth research, mainly from predominantly anti-COVID right-wingers who say that COVID is not gonna kill everybody and don't take precautions. While I'm not going to jump on the "EVERYBODY needs to get vaccinated" bullet train, I do think I could've handled this better, and for those who are adamant about COVID being dangerous, I should've taken this with a more reasonable approach. The fact is, COVID isn't dangerous to those who are already in good health and take the necessary steps to overcome it, even doing what we've learned in kindergarten - wash hands, keep distance (when sick), and cover our mouths and nose when we sneeze. I still question the overall safety of COVID vaccines (especially when you consider that governments try to sweep information under the rug that they don't want you to know about), but that's my personal belief - if you, the reader, got the shot and didn't experience obvious side effects, then that's great! I also don't believe masks are all that beneficial unless you are already sick; mandating wearing masks even for the healthy was never a good idea IMHO (got OCD yet?). Regardless of what I think, this was something I could've written better in order to help people, but then again, I'm probably not going to address such issues in the future, as I hate politics and get tired of long, drawn-out arguments with people who don't want to think things through... including myself.
I could be leaving soon... Please read! (Update: False Alarm): I was still very new to GBAtemp, and as I had seen articles on it years prior, I didn't have an account on there until 2019. Therefore, when I ran across an article that GBAtemp would be discontinued by October of that year... I literally freaked. Little did I know how spammy and UTTERLY FALSE articles posted on THE EDGE OF THE FORUM were! I still chuckle and shake my head whenever I go back to read this one.
Why I Believe Nintendo Should Fail (and Why It Would be Good for the Company) (Abandoned Blog Post): I already explained this in an update to that blog post, but TL;DR it was basically me ranting over how unproductive Nintendo had become and how my experiences with Nintendo were so bad. I've since come to understand that Nintendo isn't great... but then again, neither are other gaming companies. Nobody's perfect, and I was wrong to assume Nintendo was.
Something terrible has happened!: ...Because lame April Fool's joke! That's all I need to say on this one.
