In a Mega Mood

I have no idea, but lately I have been finding myself playing Megaman games and listening to music from the Megaman games.

I guess I'm just having one of those random gaming moods where I just want to play a spicific game or serreis for no apparent reason. Though this may be a good thing, the last time I got into a mood, I finished the game that I was in the mood for.

The three games that I have been playing are:
Megaman ZX
Megaman ZX Advent
and Megaman Starforce 3 Black Ace.

I will soon add Megaman Zero Collection to this list (As soon as I find where I put that backup. >.>)

I remember my first Megaman game, ZX. Yeah, call me a noob, but I have gone back and played some of the old Megaman games. I think I am most comfortable with going as far back as the Megaman X Games.

What I liked about Megaman ZX was how it was a semi-linear game, that did allow some sense of exploration. The music of Megaman ZX was always action-packed and went along well with the flow of the game. My favorite buttons when playing Megaman ZX: the B button, Y Button, and L buttons. Dash, Jump 'N Shoot! I finished Megaman ZX (Finish, not "beat" I didn't find all the collectibles.) on Easy mode and then played it a second time and finished it on Normal mode. After I finished Normal mode, I was planning on finding the rest of the collectibles but when I clicked "New Game" I noticed a "Hard" Option. I don't think I even finished the first area on Hard.

I think the next Megaman game I played was Starforce Pegasus.

Now I do have a bugbear with the Starforce games for one reason, the "Pokemon" sales tactic, where you make two versions of the same game with one a few things different between both games. While Pokemon does have a good number of different "version exclusive" Pokemon, Megaman Starforce, for as much as I can tell, only had a different Giga Attack. Pegasis for one, and two others. The cool part though is that you don't need to "trade" Giga Powers, you can "borrow" them via the Brotherband system. It does seem to be a bit of a gimmick, but at the same time was kinda cool. The more "brothers" you had, the stronger you became, raising your overall "LINK POWER" which enabled you to activate more boosts such as more attack, and more HP.

One major bugbear about the Starforce Games is the Short Form Text. It's friggen everywhere! "Atk 1 Emy, 1 Pnl." "Slash Atk. Mult Emy. 3 Pnls." "PWR" "LNK" and so on. I do not know why they didn't decide to decrease the font size to be able to fit more characters per line, perhaps it was a memory issue? Or perhaps CAPCOM just wanted to compress as much as the game possible to keep it on a cheaper DS chip. Either way, it makes allot of the card descriptions and item names look like they were translated by a fan hacking group instead of a professional localization team. At least the dialogue of the game wasn't done in Short form text. Imagine: "Ths isnt an all u cn pck bufft." "...O'Mega X-sis, an elin frm ottr spce." I would have to punch a kitten if that was the case.

The most recent Megaman game I played was Megaman ZX Advent. Everything I loved about ZX, only %20 cooler! (Yes, I just quoted THAT) This time, there was an incentive to play as both the male and female leads. Both had their own perspective of the main storyline, and the male and female leads actually cross paths multiple times. The most mind-blowing point of the game was not
When you fought the original Megaman ZX from the first game, the male ZX lead if you played as a female, and the female ZX lead if you played as a male.
but when
You fight Megaman Omega and obtain his power
which is by far, the ONLY model you'll ever need to beat the game EVER. I found myself using
Model Omega
the most after unlocking it. While I do remember beating
Model Omega
I don't remember beating the game. I will have to finish it to find out how it ends. (Or just look the ending up on Youtube...because, that's what's "hip" nowadays.)

I guess I am just very excited for the upcoming not-exactly-megaman-but-is-totally-megaman-as-an-old-concept-name-for-megaman-was-mightykid, Mighty No. 9 Seeing as all the stretch goals where obliteratedand OVER $4,000,000 was raised, I can't wait to see how this game plays.
