Job assessment

well yesteday I had a work assessment at a 3rd party (unauthorized) apple repair store I sorta white lied about my knowlege on mac (I used mac OS on my hackintosh rig (technicly illegal) anywho I blew the store manager away by knowing where all the stuff to pull basic info about "checking in" macs for repair in the end i told the truth about my distain for apple's right to repair stance and unethical (in my mind) bussiness practices and to my astonishment she agreed in fact she's part of the group suing apple over that issue (and the reason why she's unauthorized because she doesn't want to play by apples rules for "repair") so i left my name and number for the head owner (she was assistant manager) in hopes to at least get an internship maybe even a job later down the road

plus I got my eye on the mac pro 5,1 (pretty pricey at $1,399) maybe i can cut a deal once hired to take a paycheck hit to pay off the mac

Lying about your knowledge would probably cost you the job if you get hired in the end if they find out you don't know enough in that area even if it from a small repair shop, don't lie about your work experience though it does you no good.

i doubt they'll come here facebook yes (which is why i don't post stuff like that on there (and keep my page locked to friends only and never add coworkers)

If OSX is the operating system does it really matter if it was learned on a hackintosh, remote control, one of those junk boxes or spanking new thing apple ripped you off for? Indeed if you know what you are doing would it even matter if you learned it from a book or youtube video? To say nothing of https://xkcd.com/627/

Your dislike for their right to repair one is an interesting play. I would not necessarily deem it a bad play in such a scenario but it could have cost you it. Granted that would be a positive thing in my book; anybody that does not hire you on such a basis is telling you they will be an awful place to work for, which is OK if you are aiming for something you want but if it is a matter of need a job then that might be different.
