It's easy to appreciate artists who actually have something to say and who write their own music. It's easy to appreciate singers who can sing without the need for digital assistance.

It's not as easy to appreciate "hot guys" performing a song written by someone else simply so they can be famous and get paid.

If people want to make "good" music, they will. The market isn't about good music though...it's about whatever they can get teenagers to buy. So while you're listening to a handful of hot guys/girls singing someone else's songs too well to be human, know that there are rich people getting richer and singers who've sold their souls for a shot at a magazine cover

Music isn't subjective...TASTE is subjective.

I don't listen to any sort of Korean music, so I have no idea who writes their songs. (Whether it be them or someone else, I have no idea) But disliking a genre, and then coming to a thread about said genre simply to hate on it is pointless. Let people like what they want, it shouldn't be harming you in any way.

Oh and just to clarify, that post wasn't specifically directed at you or riposte, just a general sort of statement to anyone who seems to take their opinion of music as ultimate fact. (You see a bunch of them on youtube)

Sure, they might not have necessarily written the lyrics themselves, and the groups are often formed around an image and a name, but that doesn't stop me liking it.
They didn't join to get famous, they got scouted by a company for talent.

I didn't come to a thread about a genre of music, I came to a blog post that mentioned a genre of music in its second half. I'm more commenting on how sad it is that people give more money and attention to performers who say nothing substantial behind a catchy beat while there are artists out there writing and sharing their art form and challenging their audience.

If they like the music, what's the problem? Sure, other artists might have more meaningful lyrics but they might just not like the song itself. Why would someone pay for a song that they don't like?

Well, if that's what you want to listen to, who am I to say anything. Right? I mean, the industry is just going to push more of this stuff out anyway. Worldwide. As long as they can attach beautiful people and catchy beats kids will continue to buy it up. I guess I have to just get over the fact that by the time my son is old enough to pay any attention to music the only stuff on television or the radio will be empty, contrived pop music. MTV doesn't even play music anymore. Music Television doesn't play music. It's a sad, sad world.

Music's constantly changing. The genre's that are popular now, might not be so popular in 10 years or so.
