Let’s be honest, 2021 will be the same as 2020 for at least 3 months and you all know it. Let us suffer together.

All I'm going to say is that how 2021's first three months and the rest of the year play out for that matter is gonna depend on how things go down in 20 days.

Cue the naysayers who intentionally ignore context and previous statements on various subjects I've made in the past when they go through my post history like a Reddit SJW.

I have not read a single one of your messages on the subject before today. So take this as a fresh chance to enlighten me - what happens in 20 days?

They? I only checked your profile after posting, good job me.

Can I borrow some of your popcorn? This will be great.

Why 3 months? If going for vaccination then rate of roll out (production and distribution), acceptance and totals required mean 3 months is insanely optimistic.

I said 3 months because I didn't want people to comment and say that I am being a cynical asshole for not even giving 2021 a chance. I think everyone knows that 2021 is going to suck as well, and we are all just lying to each other.

I understand wanting to be positive, but most people are lying to themselves.

The question I have is will 2021 be a road to improvement, SNAFU or 'hold my beer'?

Well, at least it started off well with the Sonic 1 Beta.

@tech3475 Yeah, for nerds like us, that's cool.

For those who's hard work was ruined last year? I remember reading a guy who said he started from the bottom, and managed to work hard enough to eventually land a job where he was making 80k a year, and now, all for the sake of keeping what is ultimately a statistical minority "safe," his livelihood has been ruined.

And here's the thing you have to consider as well, and this is mostly a US citizen's perspective; a lot of these small businesses, once the lockdown is over, aren't gonna comeback. As if the lockdowns weren't bad enough, you had the riots, in which the police...ended up eventually siding with the rioters!

And no, I don't care about how people have been "oppressed" when they live in the US where, before the lockdown, new jobs were being made, and everything was booming, and even during the worst parts of the Great Recession, one still has a better living standard even if they were poor not just in comparison to the rest of the world, but also to the rest of human history. So I don't know where people are getting oppression from outside of some embellished stories by news networks both on TV and online who are paid to not always paint a 100% accurate picture of everything all the time, and that's on both sides of the aisle, and that's assuming there was truly an aisle to begin with to divide both sides. When you look at who's funding who, and you go to the source of the funding and what their values, goals, and drive is, then you'll see the motives for not reporting honestly and with integrity by all those who they're funding.

I know some might look at that small business line and go "this is why my country is so much better than yours," but considering that the whole point of the states in the United States is to allow the people to choose the rules, living conditions, and everything else in between for themselves and who they love, and outside of maybe Canada, you can't really do that anywhere else. Yeah, there's the EU, but that's assuming that the country you're moving to you know the native language to for when English isn't being used, and that it isn't as simple as it is in the United States.

2021 will probably be even worse barring some unforseen uprising, which peoples' behavior so far doesn't really indicate as a possibility. 2020 will have merely marked the beginning of the hellish new era.

@Silent_Gunner

I don't know about the US, but here in the UK at least, I'd go by the assumption that no one's job is safe regardless of what size business, this includes my job. Plus we also have Brexit which will likely cause problems even with a deal.

Well the Queen will do fine, but that's because she'd set her army of Swans on us if we were to try anything.

So yeah, I'll joke and take what I can get out of this FUBAR decade so far.

I bet some are feeling voter's remorse, especially if they travel around, depend on insulin to stay alive, or are knee deep in the student loan debt!
