Mario 3D World is meh at best

The camera angle is a mess, prone to give you cheap deaths. The cat suit is basically easy mode activate, and some levels are a pain to play multi-player.

The boss battles are mostly a breeze, like the mid bosses and the levels are short. Too short.

No Toadette, really? What's with this crap? From 4 characters, couldn't they slap two boys and two girls?

3D World is an awesome party game, but it lacks the substance of a mainstream Mario single-player game. Because of that, it definitely feels phoned-in, especially when you compare it to 3D Land, which was released on 3DS around the same time.

@PityOnU I agree in part, but the multi-player aspect is a way to make the game harder by essentially pitting the players against one another most of the times. Auto scrolling levels come to mind, and levels where there are long stretches of collapsible platforms. Or most of Bowser's battles, where the game area is too fricking small.

And what the hell are Captain Toad levels doing in this game?

The captain toad levels started in this game. The actual captain toad game was just made because those levels got enough positive feedback

I think the multiplayer is one of the best parts. It's an absolute mess for sure but can create some really stupid fun experiences. For the most part though I agree. Mechanically it's pretty solid and there are lots of really good ideas and level designs, but overall I think the game is pretty soulless.

This track is probably one of the best things from this game. I love it, one of my favorite Mario tracks. It's so groovy and unique

honestly, 3d world to me is like idk... I think... partners in time?
Like let me explain. Partners in time is a fun game, with good battle mechanics. However over time it over-stays it welcome. and the plot is ehh. Graphically wonderful however. Now if we replaced plot with set pieces or levels. same deal with 3d world. banger music, good gameplay (outside of the ocassional bad camera angle and lack of depth perception, but that's more due to being the brother to 3d land) gameplay is mostly thought out. However the set pieces/levels really bleed into each other and is honestly not very memorial. I think what it suffers is essentially hyper polish. outside of the first level, champions road, and the boss fights and the odd level here and there. I don't remember much. despite me just playing it. It's definitely a good game, probs like a 7 or 8. I wouldn't count it as any higher though.

Never did like this game; the levels are just not as well-designed as the ones in 3D Land, the Tessie (or whatever) levels suck since the water beast is hard to control, and why are Peach and Rosalina playable? Oh, and clone-cherries are awful.

I regret buying the original Wii U game, I really do; I have zero intentions of buying the Switch port.

Yeah, no. They already had too many girls with bloody Peach and Rosalina, and making Toad into Toadette would've made it much worse.
New Super Mario Bros. had the right idea with Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad and Yellow Toad.

@Seliph The problem is that there are no infinite lives, and making it a communal experience creates a lot of frustration.

My least favorite part is in multiplayer where you get bubbled to the other players if you go off-screen. Who does the camera follow??? It almost feels arbitrary.
