My E3 Impressions

This E3 was a pleasant surprise and very exiting to watch... at least on the first day.
I will begin with the worst because I'd like to end this Blog entry on a positive note instead of a negative.

7. PC Gaming Show
What happened here? Instead of a show telling us why PC gaming is a viable and good option for gaming we seen some people who seemed to take the "PC master race" joke way too serious.
Valve wasn't even on the stage and they are the biggest contributor to PC gaming.
But that's not the worst, the worst is that this Conference went on for two and a half hours and there was absolutely nothing shown that was worth watching.
I couldn't bear to watch it till the end and fell asleep. After waking up I read to the news website and, surprise, the only thing that came out of this presentation is that Gears of War remaster and Killer instinct will be ported to Windows 10. Something that could've been easily put into Microsoft Press conference.
Other than that we saw people talking about games for really really long time instead of showing these games to us.
What a joke.

6. Square Enix
This is why Square never had a Press conference.
It had similar problems like PC gaming show. People talked for too long in the most boring way possible instead of showing them to us AND talking about them at the same time, like Bethesda did.
They made even Just Cause 3 look boring. I do not know how you manage to do that.
They did announce some good stuff like a new Nier game being developed by Platinum games or that Star ocean 5 will be heading to the west.
But they also had shown so much stuff that we've already seen on Sony's conference and they didn't even shown like a different trailer/alternative version.
They just shown the same and talked about it for way too long without giving any useful information.
Man even KH3 gameplay demo was close to self parody since they kept teasing that they will show it but shown a mobile game and developers talking about Tangled instead. Jeez Guys nobody gives a f*ck about mobile games just show us KH3 and move on.
I was seriously considering closing the stream because of how boring it was.

5. EA
EA had only 4-5 games that were really interesting and they knew it. They designed their conference around starting high with Need For speed, which looked extremely good, although I still don't see the benefits that come from playing always online.
Then they shown more niche games with Plants vs. Zombies garden warfare 2 and Unravel which both looked quite good. I especially liked the developer of Unravel who clearly was nervous and happy at the same time to be presenting his game to the public on E3 stage. And the game looks good. I want EA to focus on games like these more just like Ubisoft does.
Then we had a bunch of junk mobile games that nobody gave a f*ck about and EA sports games, which I only endured because I went out to grab some snacks and didn't payed attention.
Oh and Mirrors Edge Catalyst was somewhere in between and looked good.
Then they finally shown Star Wars Battlefront gameplay and while I'm still salty that this game is missing half of the content and features from previous Battlefront entries I must admit this gameplay demo looked pretty awesome.

4. Nintendo
Oh boy. I really wished Nintendo's conference wouldn't end up like this, I really did.
They started big with Star Fox Zero which looked fantastic. I liked how they added features that were introduced in Star Fox 2, a cancelled game which's beta was leaked to the internet (and I played).
Generally it was a really nice start. However it got worse with time.
They announced a bunch of 3DS games. Mario and Luigi and Paper mario Cross over looked really awesome. I am really hyped for that game.
Then they also announced Hyrule Warriors Legends which was unfortunately leaked and a new Coop Legend of Zelda game which looked alright.
They also announced Metroid Prime spin off for 3DS and man, I wish I was exited for it but after 5 years I expected Metroid Prime 4 and/or Metroid 5 not a coop spin off.
They also reminded us that Fire Emblem Fates, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Xenoblade chronicles X and animal crossing happy home designer still exist and announced the release date for Super Mario maker and Animal Crossing party game and Mario tennis for Wii U.
Nothing really exiting. I really wished we would see more Wii U stuff but it seems like Nintendo is abandoning that platform slowly. But hey at least the Digital Event was fun to watch even though I wished they wouldn't spend so much time on the developer diaries.

3. Bethesda & Ubisoft
I placed both of them on the 3rd place because I think they both deserve it.
Bethesda, for it's first conference, did a really good job on hyping up the few games that they had.
I, who never played Fallout in my life, am extremely exited to play Fallout 4.
I also liked that Bethesda focuses to bring modding and user created content to consoles because that's one of the strengths of PC and having that on Consoles is really kicking those who take the "PC master race" joke too seriously in the nuts.
Ubisoft wins because Aisha is just an awesome woman to listen to.
I also liked that most of their games, even if newly announced, featured CGI trailer to hype up and then shown Gameplay footage to REALLY hype up their games.
Overall both did a good Job and where the first conferences where I didn't mind when people fucked up.

2. Microsoft
Man I started to be really interested in Xbox because of their conference.
The Halo 5 gameplay portion reminded me heavily of Star Wars Republic Commando, a game which I really liked and their Rareware revival really put a smile on my face, especially once you realize that Sea of Thieves was a game rare wanted o create before they had to turn it into Banjo Kazooie.
Man that Rare replay collection? Awesome deal. 30 Games for 30 Bucks. You simply cannot complain about that. That's one good classic game per buck, really awesome.
Also there was the thing with Backwards compatibility which is huge because that makes the Xbox One for me, who never owned a 360, a much more valuable product.

1. Sony
The only thing that was missing from this conference was Half Life 3 because then they would've officially destroy the Internet with this conference.
Sony had so much games to announce that they had to put half of it in a short montage because they couldn't fit it all into one conference.
FF7 remake is huge. I don't like FF7 because the generational gap with that game for me is simply too strong. But with this remake I can finally experience this game in it's full glory.
The Last Guardian was also on the stage and looks fabulous as fuck.
Shenmue 3 was also shown. These 3 games are stuff people usually joke about but now they're real. I never played Shenmue but I know many people who do love these two games and I'm happy for them.
Horizon looked like an awesome concept.
We had media molecule on stage showing... something. I couldn't wrap my head around what they tried to show us.
They also shown us more uncharted 4 footage which had technical difficulties but at least now we know it wasn't pre recorded.
Also World of Final Fantasy was announced and looked really really nice.
There was nothing big Vita related but seriously they had so much to announce that I didn't even care.

TL:DR version:
1. Sony
2. Microsoft
3. Bethesda & Ubisoft
4. Nintendo
5. EA
6. Square Enix
7. PC Gaming Show
