I'm afraid to say this but you might have put the hinge in incorrectly. I had the same thing with my phat DS and after a little while the hinge broke because the metal part was not moving and deforming the hinge until it broke.
You might want to take a look at it.

Other wise, pretty cool. I would've gone the opposite though since I think a black DS looks better than a white one.

Hey what u CAN do about the power button is break off a piece of staple or paper clip and wedge it into the power button. It works and you can use the power switch no problems. Anyways I hope that helps! good luck!

@ Xcalibur, what do you mean? Which part are you talking about not moving? And I couldn't have gone reverse, because I had a cracked hinge on my white DS

Yeah, I don't know why it looks like that. I think its just a reflection, and I used my iSight webcam, so the quality isn't very good

I've been meaning to complete the same mod between my sister's white DS and my black. Chickened out (temporarily) after I broke both power switches putting em back together. Luckily I can solder (got some new switches from the UK.

Why didn't you use some/all of the white buttons?

This is why I don't want to open my DS up. It can cause a chain reaction of problems.

I need to get a better case for my ds cause after modding it the buttons are shit and my hinge plastic snaped off. before it had fringe friction now now the fringe has a snapped neck

Im planning to get a new shell from deal extreme which fits better to fix my problem
