My sad morning...

(disclaimer, animal lovers will be sad)

So my Sunday morning starter like any other, wake up and I cleaned up to get ready for work. I skipped brunch today as I decided to eat at a fast food place as a treat.

Everything was going great, talked to a few people I normally talk to at the restaurant and I sat down to eat. While I was eating I heard a thud against the window, I figured it was just the weather or a bug, but it was a bird that hit it pretty hard.

(Taken from where I was eating)

I noticed the bird was in shock or injured because it had seizing characteristics, so I tried to finish my lunch quick but I noticed a car was heading towards it so I got up and tried to rescue it.

At this point it was moving but it's legs weren't working and one wrong looked particularly slow.

So like any good person I tried calling animal rescue but.... It went to voicemail. After ten minutes of calling and no success the bird suddenly stopped moving and breathing.

I was actually in shock and started tearing up over this wild bird...

(When it died...)

I wasnt in a particular place to place it anywhere but I decided to place it on the head where the insects can take out away naturally instead of the pavement.

When Durelle DMd me about this on discord I nearly cried. RIP little birdie . The bird was lucky to have Kyle hold it in its last moments.

If a wild bird doing the window thing bothers you I advise you never come here around the time they release all the pheasants.

... utter carnage.

That sucks to hear man. I've had to deal with this same issue after first moving in to where I live now. I'd recommend putting up any type of sticker on the window, it doesn't have to be huge and it can even be somewhat translucent. This will make it far less likely to happen again, as the birds will know they can't fly through.

You’re an amazing person :yay: i know some people who wouldn’t even try to save a human being if they were at death’s door.

You did great comforting it, man. I have a bit of a soft spot for birds as I grew up around aviaries. I've had to deal with quite a few birds having accidents or just being born a little too weak. Sometimes even wild birds trying to find a way into the cages to be with their bird buddies. Some things are just out of our control, and the best thing you can do is give the birdie a little warmth while it gently slips away, which is exactly what you did :)

This actually reminds me so much of a short story called The Scarlet Ibis. You guys might wanna check it out.

that proves that humanity IS existant, this is the check to a better world. Sure you don't need to be vegan, but actually doing little things for our planet can help. Sure, one person can't do much but if this is a group doing this it's good. also the animal rescue i bet would not had arrived till then. you did your best. that bird probably got crazy or smth and a car hit it; the symptom was fatal, it could be scariness or bleeding.
