Please! No! Stop! This Can’t Be Happening!

I mean, this pretty much speaks for itself. Not much to say. I can just say that the Switch is becoming as much a “hit console” as the Wii U was. Say goodbye to the manliness of the Nintendo Switch.

concidering how dark Pokemon has become yeah even kiddie games of the 90's seem to have more mature themes because they cater to the gen wunners who are in their 30's +

From a parents point of view i'd imagine this is probably a selling point for the Switch, Paw Patrol is really popular at the moment from what I gather.

From a gamers point of view even if you have no interest in this it's still a good thing the Switch is appealing to multiple demographics rather than just hardcore Nintendo fans.

I have been waiting for a paw patrol game for a console for a while now. My little girls will absolutely love it. Now it they can only make a decent peppa pig game too then I will have a reason to buy the console.

So, let me get this straight... are you saying that more variety is BAD for a console/platform and means the end of it just because it includes games you don't like? Such brilliant business advice and so true, let me get Gabe in on this! /s

It's not shovelware, just because YOU don't like the game, doesn't mean others won't like it either. If there's an audience for it, then it IS more variety. If porting old games is bad, then say that to Skyrim, Payday, World of Goo and so on should never have been ported on the Switch. Again, shovelware isn't games you don't like, it's random, badly made games with no actual audience.

Like @GameUpTomorrow said, it's not about the shovelware. Great systems have it. The Wii had it (search up top 10 worst Wii games PBG), the DS(i) had it, and the more gimmicky a system is, the more shovelware. But that often doesn't affect the good games to crappy games ratio that much. Also, manliness? The Switch didn't really have that. You want manliness, go to the PF4 or 3, or something. That's not what I look for.

@SirNapkin1334 Thanks for reminding me of how about 1/3rd of DSi Ware being shovelware, lol! Too many crap games, but the DSi was still a pretty good success!

Paw Patrol's a pretty good show.

Edit: games for young children and shovelware are not the same, so I really don't get this post.

To those saying this game is just a kids game, not shovelware, okay, I get your point. However, when more kids’ games like these release on the Switch, it’ll discourage devs of more mature titles to release games on the Switch, cause they’ll think the audience for the Switch is just little kids. The same thing happened to the Wii U, which to be honest wasn’t a bad console. In the beginning we had some adult titles on the Wii U as well, but the devs ran away after that. The Wii U became classified as a kid console, not one for teens and adults. I fear the same will happen for the Switch as well.

I would like to point out that comparing the Switch and Wii U is a huge false equivalency. AAA third party developers/publishers ditched the Wii U because of poor sales in general, not because of demographics. The Switch has already surpassed the Wii U's lifetime sales.

@Sophie-bear Actually, for WiiU, it was poor sales, bad marketing strategies, various stupid fees Nintendo used to enforce on it's devs and, most importantly, how huge of a pain it was to develop games on it, resulting in games needing up to twice as much money to develop than they would for PC or other consoles, meaning it wasn't worth the investment.

The Switch, even if it gets hundreds or thousands of kid games, will still be easy to develop for and have a huge market. No developer is gonna turn down making a game for a console just because it has a wide audience. If anything, more games for kids means more Switches and after 2-3 years when said kids get older, they will start playing the games intended for older audiences, so really, that only gives more incentive as it will potentially sell well in the long run. That was proven with PS2, having over a thousand kiddie games, but all those kids grew up with the console and moved to the more mature ones, resulting in high sales even towards the end of the console's life.

Ah yes, I love to play Kirby on my manliness Switch. And Splatoon too, most manliness shooter I had ever play. Mario Odyssey is like Dark Soul of platformer, kid screaming and running while see me playing. And how can I forget, Mario Kart 8 make every racing game on PS4 look like eC rate game. And boy, I can't wait for Pokemon to coming out, those beast are serious shit man. All of them are look manly af, like Jigglypuff or that yellow rodent and the strategy can make WWII look like bunch of nerds playing chess in the basement.

Aykay that is such a huge fallacy it's not even funny. Kid friendly games being released won't deter mature devs from the system. Where the hell did you pull THAT from? Oh you're comparing the WiiU.. I see... Your point is invalid..

Breaking news. A nintendo system gets a shit game that is meant for children. I have only seen that happen ten thousand times before.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
