PSA to "Girl Gamers"

I invite chicks to long walks on Zanzibars beach all the time.

I might be a girl, but it doesn't mean everybody needs to know that, or even give me anything special.
I usually tell people I'm a girl, but not to say who I am, I tell them to correct them.
I have no problems with what people think, I have problems with seeing people being incorrect, not just about genders, about nearly anything.

Fact: most actual girl gamers don't make it such a big deal to let people know they're a girl gamer.

So I refer to the emos and hipsters that say they're "girl gamers" as "gurl gaemars"

Agh. I hate when people do that. It's such an annoyance. I came to play the game, not get harassed by other players because of my damn gender. (This is probably why I love my local video game shop - so small, but there are a loyal legion of female fans.)

Me playing Starcraft 2 some weeks ago when suddenly:
"I'm a girl, so please go easy on me!"



...too bad it was a 2v2, and her teammate obliterated my team.

As someone who has tasted more than his fair share of controllers, I say this is all overblown.
