Today, I spent some time on youtube watching some vidoes. The thing is some videos have some amazing quality of content that i can't believe, and when i watch it, in my mind, it must be some supernatrual stuff to have excellent knowledge in. Although I acknowledge the videos themself, I am more trying to discuss the content represented in them. The following may not be properly representing what I started to say.
It's a bit nervous to say but, well i watched a video talking about some secrets of some games, the game in question, the ever popular visual novel, Doki Doki Literature Club, which I have not played and probably won't not cause of anything silly, just not too invested in visual novels. This game had some super next level 4th wall breaking secrets that was revealed to me watching it that I won't go too far into detail or we will be here all day. (I'm not acknowledging spoilers since it's been out for a decent number of months... and the video i watched got well over million of views)
All of this is in the POV of me, anyway to continue, the secrets that was uncovered in the video was on some next level content that I wasn't ready for. I'm sure most of you already know about the game and the secrets, but for those who don't, uncovering them took some serious investigation skills, I mean superior ones I don't know both as a common person in real life and hacking/reverse engineer/ decoding/ etc. Basically there was so much secrets that if I didn't know any of this and someone told me "Hey there players, we got some secrets to share with you, our game contains some easter eggs, and we will challenge you players to go and find all of it. First person to find it and send it to me via email will get a huge prize!"
I wouldn't know where to begin, I would probably play the game as basic and casual as I can just hoping and grasping for any clue and never find out anything and then just say weather is worth it or not. No is nothing wrong with that as long as you enjoyed the game. But not all games are fantasy fun even if I wish it was, some developers want to challenge the players with creative ways of making a game, and that's what DDLC was to some people. To me, it's just a new visual novel game to play, to others is the secrets of the universe.
That's how deep the rabbit hole goes in some of these things. Watching people uncover those secrets for doki doki literature club was like watching someone solve the puzzle to that Cancelled silent hills game Kojima was producing, like playing metal gear soild and told me to find the codec number on the back of the case, not knowing they meant the actual game case that has a pic of a codec convocation with the number on it the IN GAME CHARACTERS WAS TALKING ABOUT IN REAL LIFE! No, I'm the guy that if I played the game would have never discovered these things, provided I beat metal gear soild games 1-4 with no problem and no guides either. Remember, I'm a gamer, I can play a game and figure stuff out if it's enough to work with like those games, but probably would never beat Zelda 1 or 2 on nes without a guide because to me that is what these games have in common, too open and too cryptic.
Bottom line, the people who discovered this stuff was professionals, dedicated people who knew what they was doing like
If you read the spoiler, then you know what kind of stuff I'm talking about, it's crazy to me, but normal to some of you cause you do this all the time, is natural. Obviously I'm making this more than what it is cause that's how I see it. People like me would play the game and miss all of that, while some others would play it and discover "This is a sign, Half-Life 3 is coming in 2018" type stuff, and the whole game was hiding that, again, exaggerating things. The point is there is people out there who are respected for being able to do these kinds of things, I too also respect that stuff. I'm not a fan of Visual Novels so I didn't care too much about the game in general, I saw some people play but that's about it. But this video changes things, does it make me want to play, a little bit but not enough. It's got my interest and attention but not enough to play it. Is just that I can't believe some people are able to do such things. I know I can't. I could yes, if i do dedicate my self time to knowing such things which I don't.
To be a bit personal now, that's where I feel a bit bad that about, I kinda didn't give much thought to this sooner, I kinda feel inferior to some people now. I see people here with homebrew projects, making games and finding exploits and making mods and hacks. I don't really have any skill sets to contribute to any of this, which is more respected and praised than someone who "Just play games cause it's fun for me and amuses me" which yes I am happy about playing games and liking it. But I'm also aware, it's my own fault if I don't know the stuff they do to figure out all that cryptic stuff. If I wanted to do this stuff, I have to try learning it first and then over time I can learn to do something. Now I don't want to do it just to be the first to do this or that, not because I want fame or glory or respect, just as a person who likes video games and play them and don't find any hidden stuff to be able to produce a stable idea for someone else to find interesting like all the game theory channels out there, trying to figure out how zelda games are connected. No I just want to know my games a bit better than the developers don't reveal directly, like the secrets in DDLC or The PT demo or metal gear solid and what not.
The problem here is I probably lack interest... but why? I play video games, I love them, but not enough to make my own, not enough to start learning programming code to create a brand new idea or product all on my own. I watch anime, I like it, not enough to be good at art and draw my own "Original Characters" or Fan art or make my own animations and such. I like technology, but not enough to learn everything I can to build new stuff. I guess my interest are just at a basic level, not too far to become a DYI person, just enough to appreciate others who do it. Had I taken the time to do all this sooner (And yes I know there is still time) then I'm sure someone else would be sounding like I do right now. I be the one contributing stuff and getting appreciation and not sitting there just experiencing it, once again is not anything to be shamed of.
If you skipped to the end of this post just to read the ending because is too long and you couldn't read it (okay I get it, there was a lot I said, sorry I have lot on my mind), just share with me what kind of stuff you are most proud of that you can do? Obviously I'm not showing anything that I can be proud of, confident even, for a viewer prospective, all I can do is appreciate what others can do. Right now I feel too basic and not afraid to say it. I guess that makes me shallow for saying that but well, I guess at this time I am but doesn't mean it won't change in future.

Bottom line, the people who discovered this stuff was professionals, dedicated people who knew what they was doing like
- Decoding complete garbage gibberish text to readable format
- Finding hidden message in said gibberesh text to learn new clues that require turning that file into a picture or audio format
- Looking at a picture and knowing such stuff is a binary code
- Finding a hidden audio file that is not directly in the game's basic accessibility options Like Sonic 2'S track 10 in sound test that apparently was supposed to be for hidden palace zone that was removed from the game.
- Discovering hidden meanings behind character actions or context
