Sony Vegas anyone?

Ok, we have to do a music video for school, and right now i'm pirating digitally downloading Sony Vegas 10 from torrents a site.
So if anyone can give me a few pointers for some basic effects, that would be great.

In other news...
3DS: Excited, 3 weeks longer until I get my shiny black 3DS
Pokemanz: I keep missing the floods, at least that's good. Probably won't play until I finish 999
Printer: My Lexmark 9500 all in one is not working on my computers. First it wouldn't scan, now it wouldn't print either. FML. JUST FIXED
March Break: 8 days till one whole week of school free life.

Anyways, just fixed my printer, it scans & prints now and Sony vegas is 91% complete in BitTorrent

I've been using Sony Vegas at my house because honestly, it's easier to install (hell, not even install) than Adobe Premiere, although I find Adobe Premiere much better. But that's probably because I was taught video editing on that and not Vegas.

You can do some basic transitions and stuff, add some minor effects, but until I delve deeper I won't know much about other effects like motion tracking and making things on key frames and stuff like that.

I'm being taught premiere pro at moment at tafe and i'm finding it pretty easy and simple to use, never used Vegas though so can't compare.

Vegas is pretty shitty compared to Adobe Premiere Pro.

It was a test, so i just grabbed some random greenscreen video from youtube and put the footage of JB getting killed, leftover when I made that gif.
