Tablets... They're so confusing.

I've really been looking into getting a tablet lately, but Amazon and Google makes it seem so confusing... I see these strange knock-offs and I don't trust them very well.

What I was really looking for was a cheap Android tablet... I'd appreciate the help.

ANDROID

Oh, I meant things like the iPad... Umm, thanks for the help though. :)

Also, something that's compatible with the Android market? Sorry for being picky.

Edit: beat me to it haha
I think he is looking for an 'ipad-esque' tablet but with actual PC functions. I only know of Galaxy Tab (android) so far, but I haven't looked too much into it as I am waiting for those really cheap indian tablets to make it to EU or at least someone to match the technology for under £100
These tablets so far only come on contract or around £400

Its £499 :O , plus contract fee for 1GB internet usage, at Carphone Warehouse and just about everywhere else except direct from O2 where its £599 :O .

I used to have a Augen Android tablet, that is for sale at kmart, and sideloaded the Android market on, it had a resistive touch screen though. it was a decent tablet, biggest issue is most apps weren't designed for it's res and non-capacitive screen, some apps refused to run on it all.

Yeechh. I know this topic isn't about my preferences, but that would be a deal breaker for me. Resistive touch screens are much less responsive and precise.
