Thanks.

So...*sighs* I've actually been in a bit of a mess lately and well...I'd just like to say something.

I'm a paranoid person. I was usually afraid of posting in the internet because I'm afraid that someone might recognize me or I might get hurt emotionally. I've grown up with the belief that the best bet to survive in the internet is not to trust other people which was why I actually found it hard to post here the first few times.

These past few days for me were a struggle. I was having...problems relationship-wise (not in the way you think...O_O) and I couldn't turn to my friends for advice. Instead, I found comfort in talking to someone whom I knew in the net for a couple of years. She's a fanfic writer just like I am and she really helped me a lot.

After some recent posts...(which concerns a certain cheat.dat) I've realized that there really are people out there who are willing to support you even if you're just a faceless person with a name in the internet. Heck, they're even willing to support you even if they only know you for a couple of months. Of course, I might be wrong and should just go back to being a complete cynic...but I'd still like to say thanks. Thank you for letting me open up. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to think otherwise.

Just the kind of words I needed to hear! Thanks, Ace.

I was suddenly given an image of a slightly modified version of the Gbatemp banner...Instead of Gbatemp guy (can't quite remember how you guys call him), there's a care bear there. *shivers*

I really did appreciate you defending me and sticking up for me in that topic. Even with your views on the internet, you still defended me. Also I'll be completely honest, I may not personally know you, from what I read of your posts and from what I learned about you from the recent PMs is that you are a great person. You shouldn't be so self conscious and worry so much about what you post. You can't please everyone, but from what I gathered about you, your a kind and passionate person. You like to speak your mind at times too, which isn't a bad thing. :)

At any rate, I believe trust is something one needs to earn. So even if you don't trust me, you made a friend with me. So if there is ever anything I can do, just let me know, alright? :) Even if its just chit chatting and so on.

At any rate, to me, I don't really need to put a face to someone to befriend them or ffer them support when they need it. You can tell a lot about someone from what they type and what they say. Yes, yes, I know people can say whatever they want on the internet, but you can still learn about a person how they write it and how they collect their thoughts together.

So don't worry what other people think about you. Whats more important is what you think of yourself. Theres plenty of people on this planet to worry about if a handful of them don't share your views. For those who don't there are always those who do. So remember, your not alone. :)

:D Thanks. I truly appreciate what you just said.

(And no, I can't say more because I'm still a bit speechless. D:)

The interweb is bad m'kay. You are right not to trust people. If you feel something is wrong with the interweb or someone on it chances are there is. think about the web as a small city and the bad people hang out on the wrong side of the tracks but sometimes wander into your neighborhood. if you ignore them they usually go away. If not the police is a great start, telling someone else so you don't have to face a problem alone. a lot of bad people don't change so googling some emails or names usually gets you some results and maybe someone who has had a problem with said person.
get a gmail and use it only for online stuff so nothing is traced back to your real email.

some nono's

Never post your real full name. like if your name is jane doe always be jane D or change it to like doughtry or something similar
no address's or phone numbers unless there is some level of trust built. you can use jaxtr.com et al. to hide your # and still receive calls with out any possibility of being traced.

no need to be scared of the web just be smart about it and you'll be untouchable!
