Well. Built a new computer. Feelsgreatman.jpg

So this weekend I was finally able to build my newest Rig. I decided to sue an unorignal name and call it Delta B5350. Pretty plain IG.

Specs:
Ryzen 5 1600
Asus Strix ROG B350-F Gaming MOBO
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHZ (Running at 2133MHZ, need to OC it)
Gigabyte Aorus extreme gaming 1060 6GB
EVGA Supernova G2 650W
Sandisk SSD Plua 120GB
1TB WD Blue HDD
NZXT S340

Pics

Hope you guys like the look.
Worked hard on this one!

Ok bye.

How much did that thing cost you? Looking at those specs it's probably around 1500$...

SNagged a G2 750w recently. Great PSU, wish the cable sleeves weren't so beefy.

Fancy fancy. I'm doing another ryzen built with a 1700 instead of a 1600 likemy last one. Your pc looks amazing as well.

Looks really nice and neat!

How often do you upgrade / build a new PC? my i5 2500k is still going strong 7 years later. I think that's the longest i've had a system and not upgraded it.

AMD has been better than Intel for years now, you get about 4-10% less performance but get lower TDPs, MUCH lower price, overclockability and most importantly, upgradeability! For example you got a CPU with AM3+ in the past, you had a huge choice to upgrade to or if you got an AM4 for an APU when those were coming out, you don't even need a new MOBO to switch to Ryzen, while for Intel you only get 2-3 different processors or processor models to choose from, requiring a new MOBO every time to upgrade.

PS: With stock cooler it gets a LITTLE hot (40C), not much difference from the 37C from the Intel ones.

16GB of ram for those who are wondering.

Installed a new cooler. Idle at 27C usually.

Does great in cities skylines!

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
