Well this is my first blog and I think there's enough stuff happening at the moment to justify one so here goes;
I turned 16 in January and I'm going to college soon enough. The bus for a year from here costs £350ish (can't remember exact) and me and my dad have decided since I would be leaving college at different times of the day, heading to and coming back that the bus might be a bad option. 16 year olds are only allowed a motor up to 50cc in the UK when i know some 16 year olds in US that have driven cars like it's no big deal
So I got a 50cc motorbike 4/5 days ago and it arrived 2 days ago at my house. The pic below is an MRT Pro mine's not 'Pro' just normal, only real difference is gold parts are different on mine.
That pic makes the bike look pretty small but really in length it's nearly as long as I am tall (6ft) so it's not that small.
Well that cost £1900, seems a big leap from £350ish, but if I get riding a 50 I can get a 125 when I'm 17 and trade this in only £50 off for each 1000 miles it does I think it was. That means I could do just 1000 on it and get £1850 back, then buy a 125cc in January
As of now I've only taken the bike out once and I've got the controls down (there's a lot to think of but after an hour or so you'd do it without thinking) Top speed I've got is 26mph on the car park and my dad got 34mph
Here's an example of what you do to ride: Key in, check it's in neutral, kick the start up lever down, rev+choke (to warm up in the morning, once a day is fine it will start up first time after one), once it's warm enough (you have to guess) you can clutch, push down gear lever for 1st while still holding clutch and then slowly release the clutch and turn accelerator smoothly to get rolling so it doesn't stall. Braking is different to cycles which I've ridden for ages so it's weird thinking, right handle and right foot is brake, left handle and left foot is clutch and gear lever. (Any one who's been on a cycle then a motorbike should know what I'm talking about)
I'll add that this is only what I understand of it after 1 time out and top speed is 40 but 60 when we remove limiter.
My phone contract is up sometime next month so we were looking around at new phone contracts on the internet and found some alright meh-ish phones. It was a month before the end we had to call to cancel the rolling contract extension so we rang up and they swayed us to stick with them (3) by offering Unlimited texts, 100 minutes (I'm not one for calling at all) and unlimited web browsing for £17 a month 24 months and the phone is a refurbished (someone got it, didn't like it for whatever reason right out of the box, sent it back) HTC Hero
Yes that is a protruding curve chin and it takes some looking at to get used to. Android OS, Sense UI (still don't know what it means though), Android App store, and the hacks are endless. Not quite as extensive as iPhone I think but I don't have £35 a month for an iphone when i have an ipod touch 3G.
I've got a Maths (non calculator) today at 1pm and I'm trying to worry but after taking so many mock exams and having got B/A without revision I'm not, I'm on here writing Blogs :s
English paper 1 tomorrow at 9, english paper 2 thursday at 1, maths paper 2 (calculator) friday at 9.
Then next week Monday, tuesday I'm home alone! Then wednesday my dad's at home but that means I'll be able to take my bike for another run so it's all good
