Why are Racing games associated with Rap

Topic title says it all.
Why are Racing games associated w/ Rap?
Reason for the question....Well I was playing the NFS Shift demo and all I heard was Rap no Rock, Metal, ect.

Yeh there are rap in Midnight Club. NFS. Almost every realistic racing game I could think off. What about burnout?

Well it's probably just the times. I mean rap has gained a surge in popularity amongst the kiddies these days (for example my little brother only listens to that kind of junk, bloody bastard). So to fit in with those young ones they put that kind of shit in.

Yeah, Burnout and Gran Turismo weren't overburdened with rap. Which is a good thing.

I hate rap, but unfortunately that music is a good fit with sports related games. Beacuse there's dialogue type 'singing' rather than riffs/drum solos, you almost get a feel of commentary...dunno, I could just be spinnin' shit.

Here's an idea: Kylie Minogue's "Spinning Around" - well, that's me on the racing track, pretty much :rofl2:

It's because Rap music makes you feel like an OG as you sit in your underwear, eat nachos and drink soda/beer while pretending your some badass race driver :grog:
