Yay! I got my car! :D

My parents surprised me this morning when I got home from my dads house. I'm an owner of a 2004 Jetta Volkswagon :D

Words can't express what I feel right now! Though its still not finished cause we have to take it back to get it cleaned, waxed, and get some things fixed. But I'm really ecstatic right now.

Lucky bastard. :P
One of my goals sometime in 2010 is to get my license.. I just hope I don't get lost, I always seem to worry about that...

Congrats mate, was almost as epic when my parents got me mine, a 97 merc e-class ;)

I wish i kept it though :(

Anyway, take good care of it mate.

I was gonna make some racial joke here, but now's not the time.

So they paid it in full? Covered insurance and payments and everything? Sheesh...

Also, if you got this for I'm guessing Thanksgiving, what's for Christmas?

Um, congrats.

Nice, in Germany they call these newer models "Bora" instead of Jetta. My parents had the same car before they bought a Mercedes, but I unfortunately never got to drive it (officially :P).

Enjoy it :D

lol I still can't drive it. I won't be able to get my license till next month, so all I can do is practice on it or drive around with my parents. :/

I don't know what that is but if its more epic then I guess the Jetta loses <.< I will. I definitely will :D

Way ahead of you :creep:

Since you're German I have to ask, how do you pronounce "Jetta"? I dunno how to pronounce it. Is it Ge-tt-a? Or what? D:

I remember when I got my first car, good days.

Oh and its pronounced Jetta.

Nice car. It looks new to me =]

Leather seats [I think xD] and the car still looks new from just looking at the outside. My knowledge sucks with cars, so all I can say is that it llooks amazing !

lol it looks new, but it's actually used. My parents have to take it back to get it waxed, cleaned out. And you can't exactly see it but on the front screen, it has a crack which is going to be fixed as well....and its not leather...at least I don't think it is. lol

OMG, congrats.... its all so.... sexay.... and beautiful.

Would you mind giving one of your favourite tempers a drive some time? :D

:creep:

It's probably vinyl seating which in some ways is superior to leather.

Anyway, I can't wait until I get my own car. Parents said they don't want me to get a used car, so they would get me a new Corolla or something. Nothing awesome or European but practical and will help me for years to come.

Lucky Sod
When I got MY first car - I had to scrape together the money myself (& I was only taking home ~£55/week) & buy a very old Escort Mk II & boy did it have trouble with it ......

> The choke didn't work
> The Glove 'box' (actually it was a shelf) always ended up as a swimming pool when it rained
> The Engine stalled when it was cold (but find once warmed up)
> I also found out that the Carburetor was actually from a CORTINA

Mind you I learnt a lot about car maintainace when I had it !!!!

Oh, I see it now. Your seats are made by the stuff they put on the stuff in my van's seats.

It is like above that staticy stuff you would find in a old car, and right under leather. This stuff is nice because they are somewhat comfortable and they are anti-static =]

Yep, that's probably it xD

Sure why not. Maybe we can do some other things too. :creep:

Yeah that's probably what it is.

And why don't they want to get you a used car? I think they are better since they have better milage on them...plus getting a used old one is better then getting a new one in my opinion since teens get into more accidents then any other group.

Lol, who said I didn't have to pay for it? I've been saving up the past 10 years (literally I have) to get a car. But my mom put a limit on how much I could spend, which was $10,000 and had to be from 1998-2004 model.

My parents, having gone through a few used cars themselves, don't want me to have to "bother with someone elses headaches."

Plus I'm not a dumbass on the road and I don't speed for no reason like other teens, etc. Should I get into an accident, well, that is what insurance is for.

Also, "better mileage?" The greater the mileage the greater a car is (generally) prone to break down, or am I misunderstanding you?

I got my first car when I was five. It didn't run on any gas so it was free to use, it didn't make loud noises, it was small, it was easy to move around and it didn't put out fumes. I think it was called a "bike."

Congrats. :P
