I have a few idea suggestions for a new definitive version for the EZ-FLASH Junior. Here's what I have in mind:
  1. Batteryless Rumble (ideal for rumble-compatible Game Boy games, such as Pokémon Pinball. Normally GBC Rumble carts require one AAA battery for them to vibrate, but the Batteryless Rumble concept can be used on the EZ-FLASH Jr. DE, similar to Drill Dozer on GBA, and the DS Rumble Pak. Heck, the EZ-FLASH Omega DE used it, so why not?)
  2. Tilt Sensor (used for only two games (Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble and Command Master). Can be inverted in the EZ-FLASH Jr. menu, ideal for the Game Boy Advance SP, since carts load in from the bottom of the system.)
  3. NOR Flash, Mode Switch and Nintendo 64 Transfer Pak Support (You can select a game to write to NOR Flash for quicker boot times. The mode switch can be a two-way switch, with Mode A being the normal EZ-FLASH Jr. mode, and Mode B being the NOR Flash mode. Mode B can be useful for Transfer Pak-compatible games on Nintendo 64, such as Pokémon Stadium, allowing you to bring Pokémon from your Game Boy journey to your N64 for battles.)
So, what do you all think of these ideas so far? I would pay a fortune to make these ideas happen to have it become the ultimate flash cart for Game Boy and Game Boy Color.

I just want them to fix the absurd power consumption, fix the RTC stuff, and make navigating by page NOT a sluggish nightmare. If you don't need RTC, then I highly recommend the EDGB from AliExpress, they run between $22 to $25 USD.

And if you DO need RTC, I recommend Bennvenn's MBC 3000, you can have two full 2MB pokemon ROMs on it with two save files, and switch between them using dip switches.

While it's nice to dream up "1 card to rule them all", I'm a firm believer n using separate RTC carts until a good AIO cart gets made on-the-cheap.

An EDGB and an two MBC3000 together still cost less than a single Everdrive X7, for example.

For batteryless rumble, this may not be possible. The voltage input from the game slot must have enough current going to the main circuitry to operate a cartridge (such as the flash chip and the MBC controller). I'm not an engineer from such perspective, but there will not be a lot of power going to the rumble, you're going to need a battery for that.

The Everdrive GB has the ability to boot the previous game you had loaded off of the flash chip (with or without a microSD card), so that would be quite a niche gimmick for more flashcarts like these.

Game Boys already have power related issues with the EZFlash Jr, making it draw more power seems like a bad idea, if it was that simple then the battery requirement wouldn't have been there to begin with.

A tilt sensor would be nice for increased compatibility (however it still won't be 100% without the light sensor used in Boktai) but is it worth the increased cost for the very few games that use either? Not sure.

Transfer Pak support would be a gamechanger for certain people, but it's pretty niche as not many people would own a N64, Pokemon Stadium and Transfer Pak to take advantage of it.

They're all good ideas, but they would raise the cost without any benefit to most people. Is there a big enough market for a premium, all in one flashcart with every feature put into it and compatibility with every game? Hard to say. The EZFlash Jr is already 99.9% of the way there, I'm not sure people would pay 2-3x the price to have the remaining 0.1%.
