Hola amigos, necesito ayuda.
you cand edit the config file for the files used by plugin. I didn't remember how, but is the same file of retroarch.

ok, I know the rules, I just forgot to go through the google translator before to translate my text.
Thank you very much I have solved the problem, I just had to edit the .ini file inside the corresponding plugin folder wiiflow/plugins/msx/bluemsx.ini and add the .m3u extension as I said so that wiiflow can read these files. I already have my multi-disc Msx1 and 2 games working correctly.

haven't messed with this in over 8 months but i just downloaded v14 of the plugins pack and Windows is flagging this as having a few trojans for some reason??? Seems to be CreateCfg.zip and CreateCfg.exe in Hatari folders.

RE: Genesis Plus GX RetroArch Wii core

Coming from the NeoCD-Libretro Wii thread.

First i tried to compile Libretro's fork for make a functional build of Genesis Plus GX (normal, not the Wide one) and while it compiled, the resulting dol still crashes when attemping to load the core.
Now, for this new GPGX-Libretro build for Wii i will be posting it was compiled from ekeeke's Genesis Plus GX repo from GitHub until git 1db51e2, for take advantage of the latest updates made to the core, even when missing some things Libretro added, but at least it's functional.

Only tested three games (Master System, Genesis, Game Gear) but it works fine for me.

I will include the respective .info file for the latest updated version of Genesis Plus GX core for RetroArch Wii (compiled using latest RA Wii v1.15.0).

Please consider test this build, thanks ;)

PD: I will post another updated build of NeoCD-Libretro Wii later.

Thank you very much. I will definitely test this and will test the updated NeoCD when you post. Appreciate everything my friend.

@SaulFabre

I tested the Genesis GX libretro core and it does boot and function. It has issues with Game Gear, both games i tested DSI Stack/Code Dump. Also CD games black screen freeze immediately and must do hard reset.

I will test the NeoCD 1.1 and post results. Thanks again.

This is weird.
I have tested Sonic & Tails (Japan) for the Game Gear in this new GPGX core and i can load and play without issues.
Maybe one of your settings is making conflict with old GPGX-Libretro config?

@SaulFabre Ok. So testing NeoCD 1.1.

I see no difference here from what i tested overall. Testing both the exact same way...

1.0
Loaded and played every test at full speed.

Save/Load worked 5/6 times with 1 console freeze.

Loaded multiple different game sessions without a problem without Re-Loading core.

1.1
Loaded and played every test at full speed.

Save/Load worked 4/6 times with 2 console freeze.

Loaded multiple different game sessions without a problem without Re-Loading core.

I did try both using a CHD game file, as predicted, both do not support audio.
____

One thing is for certain, Neo Geo CD emulation on the Wii has become pretty frickin great over the past week. I knew @niuus was gonna be spot on when he announced he was working on NeoCDRX, and this RA release with WFL plugin compatibility you have unofficially released is icing on the cake.

CHD support would be insane but seriously not needed. The monster Wii, underpowered and under appreciated by most of the gaming community, finds a way with great devs/coders.

@RunningSnakes
Welp, looks like both versions have changed a bit, specially in savestates.
Also, i know that savestates take some time for save/make and load them, but technically savestates work on Wii.

So, use the version that better fits for WiiFlow Plugins.

PD: Have you retested Game Gear (and maybe Sega CD) games with my custom Genesis Plus GX-Libretro core with a clean settings file (after deleting your old config)?

Re-tested some Game Gear games after deleting my old cfg files, with my custom RA Wii core of latest Genesis Plus GX.

Still GG games run fine for me.
Maybe config conflict? Bad roms?

I have tested:
  • Fatal Fury Special
  • Galaga '91
  • Sonic Triple Trouble
  • GP Rider
  • Fantasy Zone Gear
Also, i tested Sega CD games in this core, (obviously with the needed BIOS files), and these work fine for me too:
  • Sonic CD
  • Final Fight CD
  • Sega Classics Arcade Collection
  • Road Rash CD
Please someone else confirm results of your tests with this new GPGX-Libretro core for Wii.

I'm away from home for Easter right now, but i did retest last night.

I hex edited the core so i wonder if this is causing the issues. Where exactly are you placing the BIOS? All of my older Sega cores have no BIOS issue placed in retroarch/system/ folder.

Ok. I have tested the SegaGX libretro core again. All Master System, SG-1000, Genesis games tested worked without issues.

GG Sonic & Tails = Working
GG Adv. Batman & Robin = Black Screen Freeze
GG Aladdin = Loads Then Black Screen Freeze

After testing 3 bin/cue Sega CD games, they all boot and play 100%, however CHD is not supported. This was my issue last night, testing games in CHD format.

Yeah i forgot to say. ekeeke's Genesis Plus GX currently doesn't support CHD files on the Libretro port.

You want to change NES emulator/core, or any emulator/core change...

Select NES from wheel or button, now you see your NES games in view with art correct?

Click home button on Wiimote, now click Select Plugins. You need to scroll until you find "Nintendo NES (Nestopia-RA) and check mark the box. The FCEUmm-RA box needs to be un-checked.

Now press the B button a few times until you are back at the game screen, where your art is displayed. Press the Home button on Wiimote and click "Reload Cache".

In my experience, i usually start another game from a different system, where the cache has already been set, then exit quickly. This way, i know the settings should be saved, in fact, this is a rule i abide by each session.

Now, Nestopia should be your NES emulator
I don't understand how this works? So if the NES source button is set to use FCEUmm-RA plugin and i do what you explain here to switch to Nestopia-RA the next time i click on the NES source button (which is still set to FCEUmm-RA) it will somehow magically load the games for Nestopia-RA and use Nestopia-RA to run them?

I believe the user wanted Nestopia as their core but by default it was set to FCEUmm RA. I was explaining how i change cores this way. Nestopia was checked then FCEUmm was unchecked. Sometimes even if you reload cache, the previous emulator will still be used on the next game selected if it is the same console and same session. This is why i always launch a game from a different console (in my case FDS always) . Then exit FDS and launch a NES game, now Nestopia will be used. This is how i trained myself and it seems to work 100% of the time. When update testing many cores back-to-back-to-back, this is especially useful, at least the way my brain works:D.

@fledge68

I read a recent post on a different thread where the user mentioned Back To The Future was not working on WFL. So i tested BTTF and both Sam & Max games and they all reset to System Menu.

I know these worked before but no matter what settings/cios i throw, i get the same result. Is there something i forgot that must be done for "Episode" games to play? Thanks

i'm curious how you are selecting FDS and then NES. via the souce menu/flow? are you using your own source menu or the rhapsodii shima? I'm asking because each source menu button is set to use a specific plugin. going to the select plugin menu and checking and unchecking plugins will not affect the source menu button so the next time you click on that source button it will use the original plugin its specified to use.

to clarify, so after you go to the select plugin menu and change the nes plugin. you then do a reload cache. then go to source menu/flow and choose FDS to view its covers and select a game and start it. return to wiiflow and go to the source menu/flow and choose NES to view its covers and select a game and it will start with the nes plugin you chose?

I'm using 5.5.4 test build 2. I'll test 5.5.3 to see if it fixes the issue with Episode games.

I use Rhapsodii Shima.
On cover flow then pressing B to Source Menu, pressing Home then Set link source to plugins i use the the below procedure...

to clarify, so after you go to the select plugin menu and change the nes plugin. you then do a reload cache. then go to source menu/flow and choose FDS to view its covers and select a game and start it. return to wiiflow and go to the source menu/flow and choose NES to view its covers and select a game and it will start with the nes plugin you chose?

On NES cover flow pressing Home then Select Plugins, finding/checking which plugin to use (Nestopia) and unchecking what was previously used (Fceumm). Yes i just select a game (without reload cache) and Nestopia takes over as plugin.

this is what you should be doing. once you do this you should just click on the NES source button (again) and it will turn off the fceumm plugin and turn on the nestopia plugin thus refreshing the screen of covers. now your games will launch with nestopia.

i have a feeling you don't realize that after re linking a source button to a plugin you need to click on the source button again to refresh the list of games.

Correct. I did not know that extra little click did the magic.

Getting ready to test 5.5.3 on the games i mentioned, I'll keep you informed. Thanks @fledge68.
