Hacking Homebrew app Why is this IPS Patch not working

hey guys,
so I've tried to applied this patch
but it's just not working.
I'm making a save for Xenoblade Chronicle but I'm no coder or anything like and just tried using this in hope and will work but unlike in the video, my game crash because the edited character in the party doesn't have their weapon and thus making the game crash.
Normaly this patch prevent it but it's not working or I'm doing something bad.

How did you apply it?

Open IPS, Toggle text from ips patch, toggle what i need and then generate ips patch and save.
that's how i do but idk if it's correct or not, english isn't my first language so i do not understand all of it sometime
