I have already mailed nintendo and they said they could replace it for $250 dollars, nothing about them wanting it and no answer even weeks after I ignored them.

The problem is that selling development hardware is bound to get taken down off eBay. Try selling it, and if it doesn't go down well, look for another marketplace site.

Depends if you are bound a contract that prevent you from selling it, for a development studio they are not allow to sell it, selling it would get lawsuit.

Haha kinda true, Nintendo was quick about going after people modding SX Core/Lite when that was going around.
I tried once listing my unpatched Switch on eBay and I got hit with a DMCA takedown. :rofl2:
I'm not joking, this actually happened a year ago.

Keyword kinda matter a bit, like you can't really specific the chip, or even mention hard modded, modded, cfw etc lol.
That's true. eBay strictly hides any items with the words 'hardmodded', 'softmod', 'modchip', amongst many others. I often tend to use PicClick if I'm searching for this stuff on my own.

Any recommendations?
You can try to sell it on facebook/craigslist, although I don't think the switch dev kit really worth anything, since anyone can straight buy it from nintendo as indie developer for like $500.

What did you tell nintendo? Last time I saw someone got a dev kit and nintendo offered to replace it for free. If they are asking $250 for a replacement I'd just buy a used switch for almost half the price..

lol same here, tried to sell an unpatched v1 on ebay before, they took it down within a day. Thought it's because I mentioned CFW so relisted it and specifically said it's factory reset, no mod or anything, they took it down again. No way to dispute it and if they take it down again they'll lock my account. Same happened before when I was selling a ps4 on 5.05 firmware.

Just sell it on facebook marketplace or craigslist instead, plus they won't charge you a 20% service fee.

as much i have understood they SELL for 500 bucks and gamedevs get their for free, but they need to sign alot of papers and shit which makes it hard even for them.

Sell it locally or to a dev unit collector I wouldn't list it on eBay, hell I wouldn't of emailed Nintendo to say I have a unit.
thanks for the tip but I dont know any collectors, so yeah

Judging by the amount of shovelware in eshop, I believe nintendo hands it out to anyone who applies and pays $500.

Anyway, it's not as valuable as a gamecube or wii u dev kit, just keep that in mind.

What's really cool about Pi's tho is you can have multiple SD cards with different OS on each SD card and change from say a gaming machine to a full fledged pc if wanted
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Plus all bios are set up and usually includes at least 128gbs or 64
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

    ack my throat
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I need to invest in some storage totes tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tots?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Tootles? Wtf
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Oh tootles
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh totes , lol, like Tupperware storage, I gotcha
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Gonna check out the new Garfield looks like garbage
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Can't wait to see the new "stick" that can actually play Ps3 or 360 games. I know they are getting close.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty didn't you see the new garfield?
