This thing with 8 mig switches all loaded with 1TB SD cards each.

It would take approximately 4 hours to load the game you want 😭😭😭
Assuming it just cycles like the sky3ds did where each game is always the same order depending on how the sd card is sorted

I.e.
Game 1
Game 2
Game 3

Someone that designs a slightly better cart switcher could probably make it smart enough to go back to game 1 or even 8 if it’s set up properly

I regret not asking for a sample. I didn't realize sub 1000 subscriber users would qualify. Did they ask a lot of questions when asking for sample?
i'm in console hacking since 17years...
I already done lot of review about NGC, Wii, Xbox, Xbox360 modchip .
That why i've been selected, I'm moderator in Logic-Sunrise.com too.

Yeah, I noticed the MIG was slow to boot the dude's game in the OP, not sure if it's the MIG's fault or just a sub-par SD card being used.

I'm meaning an entrypoint into homebrew development, the scene is dead because it's so hard to exploit.. if xci homebrew becomes available imagine how many devs could contribute
I feel like the lack of a easy to use engine is a huge roadblock as well. Maybe its because I am a novice but it seems hella confusing to figure out and learn what you'd need to do to make a simple game. Especially compared to something like Godot where someone can pick it up, and learn to make a game much easier and even have it compiled to other platforms with relative ease

I mean still better than sxOS where it takes so long to populate XCIs on a very populated HDD and then when you load a game, it doesn't always mount it.

Curious to see if it will work on the alleged Switch 2

That is super annoying. Just recently downgraded my switch to use HDD again and am experiencing this. 3 and a half minutes to load the xci browser. Wish someone could have made .xci mountable from Tinfoil browser or something god dang it.

Maybe Team Xecut.... I mean umm, the Mig Team will drop some new xci tools for us 😏

That gives me an idea actually. If their dumper is just UMS I wonder if Yuzu would be able to play our carts directly from the dumper at all kinda like the gb operator

Yeah, if it saved the list like Wii loaders did, it wouldn't be so bad. The alternative if you are a hoarder is to have multiple emunand SD cards and that's a hassle since switchers and sd card extenders don't work well enough and end up running in 1 bit mode (SD card read/write becomes 5MB/s). Swapping SD cards on a V1 very often will wear out the connector and break it causing permanent 1bit mode. Then add the whole how hard it is to track where each game is.

Also checked the Park Sung thingy only swaps between 4 cards, so only up to 4 1.5TB cards through 4 Migs. The 4 other slots are for storing extra carts

I thought the Switch used Unity for most of it's games?

A lot of games do, but thats not really useable for the average person to setup/learn if they just want to share a build of their homebrew game for the switch(or any homebrewed console really) since all the unity stuff is locked away behind being an official dev, or using leaked materials that someone learning wont be able to figure out or even be able to share their game in the end

Its a huge task, but if someone made a good Godot port or a similar engine for the switch(there is a basic one currently) or any system really. I feel like "the scene" would see a plethora of homebrew game releases, instead of relying on people to strugglebus through devkitpro currently

There IS some sort of HDD cache text file that gets saved with the location and names of all your xci but it doesn't seem to do anything or at least it doesn't mean the list doesn't have to get populated again every time (;__;.)

Makes sense. I think I would have been denied. I will look for your review when your done. Try and do some of the things that some of the users here have suggested, if you can afford to run incomplete xci files and risk a ban the biggest thing I think people would want to know is if hoembrew xci and super xci would work.

I like how it doesn't use epoxy globs on chips and uses actual integrated circuits, looks like a pretty good quality product. Now there's a ton of questions I have but I'll just wait and see how things pan out in reviews.

Can it load random .xci that have all been around for years? (Of course nobody would DREAM of doing that would be bad bad and illegal 🙃🙃🙃🙃 but can it tho)

Can it load homebrew .nro converted to .xci?
you can since NEVER GO ONLINE with that (X)NAND

I do wonder what will happen if you try and dump this flashcart with nxdumptool 🤔
you will get the exactly same files you have on the SD Card, because is that way how the device works, it EMULATE a physical cartdrige 1:1 to the original one.
