I like how this goes. It's like a Dejavu. I've read the same repetitive discussion in a diferent manner the same two people for the last three pages. The only improvement was the fallacies vs. phalluses thing that isn't really adding anything to the discussion but well at least was a change.
Hmmm... not sure what to say... I have at least made an honest attempt not to misrepresent what other people have said. It has been repetitive because I keep having to debunk repeated fallacious arguments.
I think you shouldn't take that burden alone and fight against everyone. If it were me I can jump in here defending the AP and Tueidj's decision to make Devolution this way and go against pirates and their filthy intentions however if a cracked non AP Devolution arises believe me I will be the first one to download it and willing to pay for it if has a price on it so your are getting my point. Right here there's is too much Hypocrisy at hand to be wasting time argumentation against people's "morality" but they will do the other way around if given the chance. This is gbatemp, don't forget that.

Not doing additional video patching for higher resolutions and out-of-region games is a problem?

The original system itself doesn't support it. :\

I was more so pointing out the lack of fucks he gave about a user asking about something. Even his strongest supporters have been seen posting "Bro, turn the 'tude down and just tell them why you're not doing something," in different words.

Again, though, this thread has stretched so far from its original purpose that I now think of todays vocab word "fallacies" when I think of anyone with a Masters. :|

As a person, tueidj deserves every bit of hate he gets. As a wii homebrew dev he is criminally under-appreciated.

What do you mean, "if given the chance"? Just use DIOS-MIOS.

It is true that there are some AP measures, but at the same time, the source for the loader is openly available. Anyone can go ahead and remove them in their build, provided that they have the skill to do so.

The developer doesn't want his work to be used in illegal activities - if you want to then it's your choice and you can go on ahead and start changing the code. The original source includes AP measures, but that doesn't mean that a modded version won't surface.

This wiismodrome is an example. Joostinonline jumps into a defensive stance however given the chance to get a cracked version of Devolution he will be in the first lines. I can't argue with him all day about what he thinks is right when I know inside him he would do otherwise if given the opportunity. You have to learn and deal with people properly.

Actually it's not. loader.bin is not open source, just the UI.

I don't appreciate such accusations. That is not true at all.

Oh! I see.

It'd take reverse-engineering then...

Well, there's Dios-Mios, right? BESIDES, Gamecube games sell for what, $5-20? There's EBay for that, it's not an obscure and rare console.

Careful Foxi
Numerous people have stated this but I think it's already been "debunked" as a fallacy...

Devolution's AP is not just stopping "pirates", it is stopping some people who own retail discs from using their games.
No it's not. They can play their games just fine without Devolution.

O RLY? Then why are there so many people who use retail discs and can't get them to work on Devolution?

You didn't read my post. They can still play the games just fine. All they need to do is stick the game in, go to the System Menu, and press Launch. Devolution didn't stop them from doing anything.

I was referring to people who have the retail disc and use it to verify the image. People have reported to use a real disc with the image and getting kicked out to the HBC. The retail disc never verifies properly and does nothing. See, even people who have real discs are getting screwed over.

Because, some people can't play games with retail discs. Even some legit retail discs aren't getting verified by the program.

In my case, if a retail disc does not authorize, Devolution locks up the Wii... no returning to HBC. That would actually be a bit better.

Are you saying that Devolution has stopped people's Wii's from reading retail discs rendering them unable to ever play their games again?
Or are you saying that they are simply unable to load their games from USB using Devolution and would be better served using DM?
