Is the 2.2 firmware tested and safe to update? (from 2.1)

Are you able to perform game dumps of digitally installed retail games?

Sorry if these have been answered already. This thread's moved on quite a lot since I last checked.
1. It was just released today, but so far, I'm not aware of any bricks.
2. You can only dump carts, not digital games.

I dumped a Mario Kart 7 rom and save from the same cartridge. I renamed the .sav from the serial (AMKE.sav) to the id (0004000000030800.sav) and renamed the rom to Mario Kart 7.3dz. I can play online with my old save.

Hmm, I wonder if this would work with any gateway saves... i'm guessing no?
answer is yes; why else would I post it in the gateay thread.

can decrypt any x/y (gateway/retail, not digital), which can then be transplanted to a gateway save and run ~ so long as the aesmac sig check is patched to return valid every time.

so, stupid purists, lovers of "clean" releases. There you have it.
You made some roms so clean that wiped critical data away.

Every piece on those releases made to support any online functionality is basically bs now.

Will they re-dump every cart? BFD

And this is hapoy news. I would want for a hex editor to be made for Kid icarus uprising, or something to edit the saves.

EDIT: oh wait, I'm not sure if U understood my question, I meant any games using gateway saves, not only pokemon. XD If it can tho, that would be great.

Well, in that case, no. Only works for x/y as the trick uses a plaintext exclusive to the games.

Currently trying to use this http://tinyurl.com/Rom-Cleaner-0-2 to see if I can use the header from my Pokemon X dump but it keeps giving me invalid 3DZ
That happens to me with mario kart 7 but i dont know how gateway 3ds recognize is not a valid header maybe the header is somewhere else in the rom

I find it on the line 1200 but maybe it verificates the header with another part of the rom

So it is impossible to backup a Pokemon X save from a physical cartridge to the SD Slot?

Everytime I attempt, I get the following:

>> Game Code: CTR-P-EKJA
>> ERROR! PRESS [A] TO EXIT
>> FFFFFFFB

The save is on the dumped ROM. It is not extracted using the save extract tool.
