Finally! I'm ready to release version 1.0 of my theme! This one's for MegaMan Battle Network, which, if you've never heard of it before, is an AWESOME franchise.

I've already got the entire map (the one shown on the bottom screen) drafted up and ready to go for when 3DS themes are better documented and we can enable scrolling however we want. That being said, since I designed it for a scrolling theme, the bottom screen does seem a little bland, but I'm open to suggestions for what to add to the static image in the meantime. While some other theme templates had scrolling, their menu color schemes just didn't match my theme. Even though it doesn't have scrolling yet, I think this is nice for a v1.0

The best part? NO MARIO SOUNDS!!!

How did you go about changing the color of create folder? or is this something that can only be done a a new 3ds?

It all has to do with what theme you base yours on. We can't change it to whatever we want at the moment - I just found a theme with a color scheme that fit alright.

Hey guys, I made a tiny little discovery when tweaking my own theme.

It turns out that the icons don't use inverted colors, but are instead manipulated when the theme is loaded. So basically, when you put colors into an icon in theme maker and save it, it will be displayed with colors that have approximately:

141 LESS Hue (-141H)
9 MORE Saturation (+9S)
10 MORE Lightness (+10L)

So in order to create an image that will look like you want it to on the 3DS, you have to make the inverse of those changes, so you take your image and ADD 141 hue, SUBTRACT 9 Saturation, and SUBTRACT 10 Lightness (+141H-9S-10L).

I hope that helps someone, and I hope someone didn't state this before, then I'd just look silly.

EDIT: So it turns out those numbers are just a bit off (I wanted a light blue but got purple), but I'm working on getting it right and will post the correct numbers when I find them. It may end up being some other form of color manipulation, and that the HSL values will be different for each color. The ones I've found will at the very least get you close to the color you want, so there's that. Let's see where I end up.

EDIT2: So it's starting to look like the offset in color is defined in the theme base you are using. I've tried a few different themes, and the variation in hue can be anywhere from 90 to 180. I've even had a case where the color didn't change at all! I'm starting to think these icons have a limited palette, and it's just choosing the next closest one. Who knows?

The folders are stored in the format BGR888, thus the color values are stored in reverse. This means, just switch your R and B values, and you should be good to go. The custom theme creator tool DOES NOT save it in the correct format.

As an example, images with the RGB 0, 196, 253 (Light blue) will show up as 253, 196, 0 (Yellow).

Ah, ok. I managed to somehow get the folder color I wanted through trial and error, but this will definitely come in handy in the future. Thanks!

Hmm... I'm trying to use 3DBrew to hex my way into getting the bottom screen to scroll, but the theme editor will now crash when I try to load the bottom screen; all other images load fine. I think it has to do with the bottom screen image being too small, but I'm not sure how to go about adding a larger image to it and keep the scrolling.

Is there anyone more familiar with this that knows how to go about this?

Ill make a tut in a bit but you take an MP3 and convert it like MP3->WAV->BRSTM->BCSTM

I was thinking about that. I'll download every theme on this thread as a backup, and later create a website to host the themes (if it is consented by the user).

Edit: It might be a bit hard to download every theme, so I'll include a custom theme uploader. I don't have a lot of time to handle all of this right now, so it'll probably take a bit.
