Does it work with CSND? Do you have SCPH1001.bin in /retroarch/cores/system (assuming you're trying to play a US game)? What format is your game in that you're trying to load?

I simply followed the instructions in the OP, and have SCPH5500.bin, SCPH5501.bin, and SCPH5502.bin. I hadn't realized I needed SCPH1001.bin.

I am trying to run a .cue file of Final Fantasy IX I created from the physical copy I own.

EDIT: Neither CSPH nor adding SCPH1001.bin fix this issue. Is there a way to dump the log of PCSX? It crashes too quickly for me to read anything but the last line when I don't run it via 3DSX.

Running the 3DSX build to see the error I get "Failed to load content.", then "Does not have enough samples for monitor refresh rate estimation. Requires to run for at least 4096 frames.", followed by "Failed to start audio driver. Will continue without audio." So it appears that the audio isn't the issue after all, and that it isn't able to open the .cue file.

EDIT 2: DERP. It said it could not read the .bin file I didn't put on the SD card. *facepalm*

Is there anyway to remove the "dsp" setting from the Drivers options without having to delete the CFG?
I want to go back to CSND but it just goes between dsp and null. :/
DSP is giving me choppy audio.

How's people's experience with 32x? Can play Knuckles Choatix perfectly. But Virtua Racer freezes on the menu and Virtual fighter won't load. Tried with 12/9. Cia and 1/14.

Also gpsp plays perfect for a while then freezes, CIA as well.

Just tried Knuckles Chaotix a few hours ago, still pretty slow on o3ds. If you're using a n3ds, you should have better performance.

EDIT: Hopefully I'm not judging this wrong, but I wanna say 32x MIGHT be about as fast as Picodrive and Genesis Plus started out.

I'm on a n3ds and it is fullspeed with pictodrive CIA but crashing on some games
Make sure you're exiting the emulator and re-launching it when you switch to another game. Some cores have issues with that sorta thing. Same thing applies to SEGA CD games and to a lesser extent, Genesis games. Have you tried Sonic CD, btw?

Thought i was the only one having that issue with switching games since no one else ever said anything about it.

GPSP will randomly crash and force my N3DS to shut down. Is this normal? It's the only retroarch core that does this. It's a real shame, this emulator works perfect aside from this issue. Does this in every build, usually when closing a game and trying to load another.

(Using the .cia version, latest nightly, Rxtools emunand 9.5)

I believe that's a known bug. just close and restart GPSP when you want to change ROMs, for now. Home menu/close is a lot faster than a reboot that's for sure :)

This question is done to death by now I'm sure.

But for PS1 games, do a lot of them come to around 100% with n3DS with .CIA install?

I know a while ago it was about 60%-80%, I'm curious if they've gotten speed boosts.

The two games I generally test with (FF9 and Legend of mana) are still running in the 40 FPS range, so no, no major improvements there.

I actually had the emulator do the same exact crash, while I was palying Zelda A Link To The Past. I just started the emulator too. I was about to select where I want to start from then BAM. But the game does work on the next fresh boot.

I'm gonna test it more, by playing just ONE game and never switching or closing. I hope this gets fixed, this emulator is perfect

I just installed the FCEUMM core for NES from the latest nightly on an O3DS with CakesFW 10.3 emunand, it runs abysmally, totally unplayable. I'm fairly certain the O3DS can handle NES emulation when running off CIA so what's wrong? I tried rolling back a few weeks and no change.
