Does Sysupdate work if you launched from homebrew channel using menuhax as an entry point?

I keep getting black screen when launching it.

It's not a 100% bootrate into Sysupdater.

If you downgrade anything you always run the risk of getting bricked.

No, I don't think I read it was ever a 100% brick anyways.

Oh, I'm doing a n3ds. Was going to go 9.6 > 10.3 > 9.2 then CFW. But if it going to be 100% brick I'll leave it!

No it was never a 100% brick rate in the first place. It was just higher than O3DS. If you do your research right you should be able to do it fine.

im very new here and im sure this question has been asked a million times but i have a 3ds xl with the most upto date firmware 10.5.0 and im wondering if i buy a Gateway 3DS will it work right away or is there no way to do it yet?

Here is a quote from the Gateway website:

With the new firmware update we would like to STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST UPDATING your sysnand to any version higher than 10.3 (i.e. 10.4 or higher), as we will not be able to support sysnand firmware version 10.4 or higher anytime soon.

Currently there exist homebrew methods to downgrade from 10.3 to 9.2, allowing you to use your Gateway card already.
But the downgrade method is not recommended as it is error prone, dangerous and can lead to bricking.
We would like to provide our users with a more safe method, and this is one of the things we are working on.

This means you SHOULD NOT upgrade past 10.3, as you will miss the boat as they say.

So I've got a 9.2-20U N3DS setup. Installed FBi. Made a NAND.bin , Installed it to EmuNAND. All worked fine did an online update to 10.5 that works fine too. Dumped that to keep. Went back to the 9.2 Emunand and am no trying to update it using sysupdater to 9.5 so I've got an RX-tools emunand as well. However I've tried updating this 5 times now and it's bricked the EmuNAND every single time, the emunand boots but black screens, if you close the lid / hit the power button the power menu comes up , going back to the home menu from there just produces the white Home Menu text screen and then freezes. I've tried 2 different update packs and recopies the files and neither makes any difference.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong / an md5 for a known good 9.5 U update pack ?

Is there a MD5 list for all firmwares?

I'm problems downloading with SysUpdater. Everytime I try and download I get Failed to get CIA Info. I know the web connection is good as I can ftp to it fine. My DNS is set to Auto. I have wiped my memory card multiple times and tried a new one but no luck. I have even tried booting FTP and exiting quick but still no luck.

Tried Menu hack and oot hack as entry points also. Using a Windows 10 PC, I checked the files via FTP and no odd files have been added.

Trying to update to 10.3 so that I can downgrade to 9.2.

Also now formatted my 3DS and Memory card and did a full install again same problem.

Anyone found a way round this or a fix?

Can´t access the Eshop. Friendlist and games online work however. Error is 022-2634.

That's a result of formatting linked nands that had a nnid on it. You can search the error up, as many people had the same problem as you

I'm pretty sure you can downgrade straight from whatever firmware you're on.
It hasn't been confirmed that downgrading on <10.3 firmware is worse than downgrading from 10.3 itself. (unless I'm wrong, feel free to tell me so)

Except, when I thought I installed everything, when I boot up RxTool, the screen shows up briefly and then goes black. Yes, I have made emuNAND for him so he not completely doomed.

So any advice for black screen when booting up Rxtools? I should have the right files.

If not, does ReiNAND exist for O3DS? with the whole ReiNAND works for N3DS, I haven't seen the older version for O3DS. Having trouble looking in Reisyukaku's pastebin.

Well, if you're doing everything right, then i think its just the bad boots.

I'm pretty sure for reinand its not compatible with o3ds yet. That's the last time i heard about it anyways.

What the solution then? Tried 10x so far. that a bit too low sucess rate.

Any other CFW with sig checks for o3ds then? Link i used said ReiNAND, so i guess my info wrong.

is it possible for me to get fireemblem fates special edition jpn and install the dlc with english patch 3.0 as a cia file? i remember awhile back it wasnt possible now i want to know if it is on gateway

Thanks, bit the bullet and went for it.

N3DS 9.6 to 9.2. Working fine. Had the memory card issues but working fine.

Time for a rest before I move on!
