Hardware "Soft" L & R Triggers - No "click"

I'd like to know what makes the L & R Triggers hard or soft and how to make them "clicking" right like a brand new console.

Right now, my L & R Triggers are soft and it's hard to feel when you press them. Where does the softening comes from ? How do you change this ?

Have you always had this particular GBA? If so, when did you notice the buttons going "soft"? In my experience at some point Nintendo switched the style of tact switch they used for the L & R for one that didn't click because I have several units on my bench for backlight mods and some of them still have the "clickiness" you mention.

It's actually a custom shell with custom buttons, not official ones. I was just wondering if something was preventing the triggers from clicking right.

The outside plastic buttons have nothing to do with the click. taking apart and examining the GBAs I have seems to indicate that there are two different kinds of shoulder buttons, one that is clicky and one that isn't. The only way you'd be able to get the clicky kind would to desolder the current set of buttons and replace them. That or get another GBA.

original GBA shoulder buttons are "non-click" switch.

fyi, "non-click" term in switch doesnt mean it is not clicking. zero clicking like sony dualshock 4 trigger or xbox 360 trigger buttons are called "linear". non-click means clicking, but smoother than usual clicking.

original shoulder switchs of GBA has very low pressure. people prefer swap the switch with hard pressure one for clear feel of press or not.
