Its been years since I touched a flashcart. But a friend just bought a 2DS (the flat one, not the model with the clamshell hinge) and he wants me to help him out.
Just looking to play DS games (not 3DS games), will most any card work? Like R4i Gold, etc..
Is the card dependent on the firmware version of the 2DS?

Thats the one I was looking at, but was confused with the switch in it. I guess just leave the switch set in the DS mode?

Does the firmware version of the 2DS matter if its only used for regular DS games?

Would the R4i gold 3ds rts card (the one previous to this new "+" version) work just as well? No point in spending the extra few bucks if 3DS NTR support is not needed.

most new cards will have ntrboot since its cheap to add-on. Plus its useful if they ever want to do 3DS hacking.
