Spend the extra money. At least if it has ntr boot you can always install CFW on future 3ds’ or hell install it on your friends and charge them $10 to make up the difference. You always get what you pay for...

You can use the other one on other 3ds too. You just need to flash ntrboot to it again.

Thanks for your help, I just bought the one with NTR. One last question. Should I upgrade to 11.6? Before or after CFW?

I don’t know if it’s advised to upgrade but I don’t see why not as the ntr boot can be installed on any firmware. Maybe somebody else can chime in that has more knowledge then me

With the r4 plus card does it play ds games straight out of the box when you push the switch to D or do you need to do something else?

You need to download the kernel from their website. Same with every flashcard.

hey guys i havnt messed with my ds in awhile. im on n3dsxl 11.4 with homebrew, luma and fbi. alot of my games are saying they need updates and in order to update them it wants me to do a system upgrade to 11.6. is this safe to do? if so how do i do it without messing up my stuff/ i dont even have any emulators on it yet just the freeshop. plz any help is appreciated

I'd like to have my 2ds set up with NTR and would like a fast turn around. Or if someone would be willing to sell me a flashcart and 2day it to me, that would be awesome also.

It’s safe just go in system settings and update. If you haven’t used in awhile you might want to update ur arm9loader to boot9strap and if have boot9strap to update that to recent version. I think we are upto 1.3 now

Plus u prob could update ur luma also if it’s been awhile
Just goto 3ds guide and they have very easy step by step for everything I mentioned. Google 3dsguide or there’s prob a link in one of the stickies here on gbatemp somewhere

What Luma version are you on? Check by holding select on boot.

Yes. Everything will work after the update same as now and you're using the new boot9strap (otherwise Luma 9.0 wouldn't work)
