@chronoss @Reecey Try the attached payload also put `loader.kip1` and `sm.kip1` back into the root of your SD Card. Let me know if this consistently works for you. I can't tell if I fixed it or just getting lucky with it loading every time.
tested inside and outside with the new bin : nothing
[ error ] Failed to launch firmware

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I don't know if you forgot the file but with "hekate_ipl.ini" in module folder, it boot without problem...

After 10 tries, i got one error. I don't know why.....

Thanks for trying but I still get the same "error failed to launch firmware." at the top right hand corner.

I'll be sure to do that, hold on while I add your name to the list of people who are too lazy to check for themselves.

In clinical psychology there is a term for people like you. Creatures who take the time and effort to be prissy and negative to someone asking a perfectly reasonable question on the internet. Butting in where you don't belong with someone you don't know. I bet you often sit there wondering, worrying and offended why the way the world is how it is and why people do things you don't agree with. I bet you feel a moral right to "teach" them a lesson because you're on a supposed moral high ground. Reality is you're a small person unhappy with your station in life and frustrated and helpless. However I will do you a kindness. A charity.

Fine, you taught me a lesson. Hopefully this will curb your aggression for a short period of time and you wouldn't be vile to someone else. Happy?

(I wonder if there is a way to block people on this site).

Aw I feel special, thanks. I was just posting for my own mild amusement, but good comeback. Yes there's an ignore feature if you like.

Let me know when we have a consistent and un-thethered jailbreak.

I'll be sure to do that, hold on while I add your name to the list of people who are too lazy to check for themselves.
I wonder if Madonna checked the actual quote that you were responding to, hippy dave. GBATemp doesn't have a responsibility in keeping people personally updated. If we have an untethered exploit, it'll be fairly obvious (fairly being the operative word here). If you want to at least ask the status of things, just don't make one of those threads asking "when" or "is there". Posting in something like the noob paradise would be a good starting point.

Yes. But I wasn't creating a thread, it was just a casual query. I tend to find people on this forum are largely quite helpful and they actually will come back to you. In fact I myself have advised a couple of people on the nintendo 3ds hacking. That's the spirit of the community. Dave was just being disproportionate and tactless for the sake of being tactless. But its fine, I'm over it. Just lets be friendly to each other. Enough BS in the world as it is we don't need to chip in lol.

DO NOT UPGRADE TO USE THIS!

The original idea for this was from @shamdul on the ReSwitched Discord. I helped him out on the Discord getting it working and then cleaned up the code a bit and added 4.x support. I've been using it for the past week to get into homebrew launcher on my Switch with no issues. All it does is load up Horizon with homebrew enabled with all the other functions of Hekate being striped out. This does not fix the sleep bug. It is recommended to only use this for development, anyone else should wait for Atmosphere.

Open source and free packages used:
  • FatFs R0.13a (Copyright (C) 2017, ChaN)
  • bcl-1.2.0 (Copyright (c) 2003-2006 Marcus Geelnard)

Version 2.0.3
  • Will now load all kip1 blobs from the modules folder when starting up with homebrew enabled.
  • Anyone upgrading should download the new sdfiles.zip.

Version 2.0.2
  • Pulled the latest upstream from @nwert. SwitchBlade should now have support for all versions. (1.x, 2.x, 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x)
  • Updated hbmenu to have support for touch input.

Version 2.0.1
  • Fixed bug with garbage data left in memory where the frame buffer is initialized was being displayed on screen.

Version 2.0.0
  • Rebased SwitchBlade off of Nwert's repo with all of his latest changes. (With this comes support for Samsung SD Cards, though from my experience they make Horizon boot slower.)
  • Rebuilt HDLoader to make sure the latest version is in sdfiles.zip.
  • Added the ability to hold Vol+ on sending the payload to power off the Switch.
  • When booting stock it will no longer decrypt, rebuild and encrypt pkg2 as we aren't making any changes to it.
  • Fixed issue with hidden files from MacOS would be selected as they were in the splashes folder. Now any file starting with "." or hidden will be skipped over for selecting a random splash screen.
  • Added more verbose console output when there is no splash screen.

Version 1.0.6
  • Holding Vol- while sending the payload will load the stock-ish firmware. (Useful for AutoRCM) It will still patch pkg1 to skip hash checks, but it will not merge in kip1 blobs to enable homebrew. This also still has the sleep bug and could still be detected by Nintendo. The only thing this does is give you access to your photo album.

Version 1.0.5
  • Will now console out information when there is no "splash.bin" in the root of the SD Card and no files in the "splashes" folder in the root of the SD Card.
  • Console messages will now display properly top and bottom instead of being rotated to the side.
  • Fixed a possible bug preventing splash screens from appearing.

Version 1.0.4
  • Will now skip over directories if you have any directories in the "splashes" folder for some reason?
  • If you don't have a "splash.bin" file in the root and you have the "splashes" folder with nothing in there the payload would crash trying to access a null pointer.

Version 1.0.3
  • Added the ability to have random splash screens.

Version 1.0.2
  • Added the splash screen.

Version 1.0.1
  • Code clean-up.
  • Added 4.x support.

Version 1.0
  • @shamdul's initial release.
This has been my payload for more than week now, and I love it! Thank you!

Okay lets try this again. I've re-added the ini file instead of reading the modules directory for the kip1 files. (Not exactly sure why introducing that caused a bunch of problems.) Make sure to download the sdfiles.zip once again as there is a new switchblade.ini file and all the sysmodules are once again in the root of the SD card.

Version 2.0.4 was just released:
  • Added back the ini file from Hekate into SwitchBlade allowing for custom kip1 blobs to be loaded for stock or hen.
  • Made sure the latest hbloader and hbmenu are in sdfiles.zip.
  • Pulled down the latest upstream again.
  • Anyone upgrading should download the new sdfiles.zip.
Work great, after many try and no error....

No, Only the build is old. As SciresM has shown, the hbmenu was not patched

The only homebrew launcher that works on 5.1 is the one SciresM uses in his CFW, Atmosphere. The public launcher that the community has been using has been patched out in the latest firmware. Either the devs need to patch the homebrew menu for 5.1 or someone would need to compile SciresM's homebrew launcher and distribute it.
