flex1911's GTAVC update causes many issues including missing character after loading a save file. It is recommended to stay with the first release.

You must play the pacifist route then :D

I had the same amount of crashes on regular Graber's re3. But it seems it is more stable for some people than reVC.

iv been playing around gta3 for about 6 hours of game times , no crash ,20 hidden package so far lol . i like that you can even remap button dirrectly in the menu .

23.10.2020 patch:
  • Merged with latests commits from the original re3 repository, includes a good number fixes and changes made by the re3 team.
  • Built with MASTER and FINAL defines: Version 1.0 watermark should be gone
  • Enabled PS2-Like menu for console-like experience. (this menu currently has some artifacts with the texture so an ugly workaround was used to prevent one of the most noticeable artifacts, but you can still see the texture wrapping on the right on 1080p, not a big deal for now though)
  • GTA-SA like camera enabled with bundled re3.ini file, you can disable it if you want by changing 1 to 0 in the FreeCam line inside the re3.ini file.
  • Fixed rendering artifacts related to resolution changes when switching from docked mode to handheld mode.
  • The game will now go back in menus with the B button instead of the Y button.
  • Disable touch screen acting as mouse (pointless anyways)
  • Resolution settings are now hidden since the best resolution is chosen by the console depending on the mode anyways.
  • Added MP3 player support (new feature implemented by re3 team a while ago) - might stutter a bit when switching to it because of mp3: make an mp3 folder besides re3.nro and put your mp3 files in there.
Download added to GitHub releases (https://github.com/AGraber/re3-nx/releases/latest). This took a while but it got a bunch of fixes so I hope it's now in a better state for everyone. I'm sorry I can't reply or attend every request/bug/etc.

If you're taking requests, I would like to suggest adding name aliases to the buttons name, because in-game it shows like "Press JOY-11..." and I really dont know which button JOY-11 is, so having the atual button (eg.: ZR) would be a great help.
Joypad code in GTA 3 is a bit of a mess and it's not really easy to add, but it's something that they (the re3 guys) told me they would look into someday since they're also interested in it.

the vehicles take too much damage and get destroyed too fast...in the original game i did first mission without heavy car damage but in this port my car almost is dead
Maybe it's related to unlimited framerate? Try turning on the frame limiter if it isn't on.

Is it possible to use the 1.1 GTA Patch?
These updates are not relevant and not actually in use here since this brings its own executable already. I think any files should do as long as you convert the files like in the installation guide.

Do we have any updates regarding the Vice City port? I can't find any info online about the project.
Hey is ViceCity working now?
Vice City is not in a serviceable state at the moment. No ETA on when a proper build can be done since it's still a lot of work in progress.

For the GTA3 and VC NRO Files - There are a couple NSP Forwarders. Does it matter, or are they different? Can I use the Updated NRO no matter which NSP I use?

I'm having a weird issue with the latest version. I can launch fine from a nsp forwarder but not from the hbmenu. I am launching the hbmenu in full memory mode, not applet mode. Anyone else with this issue or know the cause/have a solution?

Edit: not sure if this also happened with previous version or not.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
