Cyberpunk 2077's massive 1.2 patch is available on PC and console, has over 30GB worth of bugfixes

Screen Shot 2021-03-29 at 9.29.14 PM.png

Taking a little bit longer than expected, the 1.2 patch for Cyberpunk 2077 is finally here. The patch makes numerous changes and fixes to the game, spanning all sorts of improvements, such as more reliable NPC behavior, bugfixes for quests, overall stability, better driving, and "hundreds" of other tweaks. You can download the patch—which comes in at a whopping 34GB on PC and more than 45GB for consoles—on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, with an update for Stadia players to arrive soon. This isn't the end to further updates for Cyberpunk 2077, either, as CD Projekt Red still plans on releasing more patches in the future.

Sorry maybe a bit offtopic
But Sonic 06 is one of my favorite sonic games
Cuz of the soundtrack and style and the nostalgia
Not cuz the glitches winch makes the game a buggy mess

Google Sonic P-06 then.

CP2077 wasn't eligible for GOTY 2020 anyway, it'll be eligible for 2021. Not that I believe it'll win or even necessarily be nominated, of course.
Has anything worthwhile even released yet, this year? Persona 5 Strikers, for sure, but...anything else?
As for later on...Mass Effect: Legendary seems promising, but who knows at this point.

Eh, Ghost of Tsushima and Persona 5 Royal are 2020's GotYs. Unlike Cyberpunk, these two were actually functional on release, and massively enjoyable.

they mean when a complete edition is released for the game.

People shouldn't blame game devs they told the big suits it needed another year but the big suits wanted to meet shareholder deadlines and release it on time

I m hoping ssd capacity and price get better soon for these big games. altho if games start to design for ssds game size will shrink.

maybe for pc it could detect or ask if your installing on ssd or hdd so it can download the right version of the game.

Over 30GB? Sounds like a lot of un-optimized code, yikes. I miss the days when a game that's two discs long could be ported to just 64MB of space. (Resident Evil 2 for the N64.)

Sadly, game devs don't believe in storage space optimizations or compression in games anymore.
Not saying this isn;t the case

However, many times when devs release patches, they release the entire mofidiyed file.

So while the patch may be 30 gigs. The actual size of the game shound't go up substantially or at all.

Of course in other games like WOW, Desntiy 2, many patches add in new areas and other things which most definitly increases gamesize.

the patch actually makes performance worse for many people

i've got a 1080 ti and a ryzen 5 3600, and the game struggled to keep 60fps on 1080p LOW settings. i even saw as low as 23fps
they also didn't fix the bug where NPCs like to drive straight through walls, or the bug that lets you summon all of your cars at once and have them launch all over the place

Maybe this is how to game was always supposed to run?

I.E graphic options are actually working now and are not bugged,

lol, what reason would anyone have to support the stadia version? They already got paid by google and nobody buys games on stadia... so?

Exactly. How many "bugs" need texture updates? Like, maybe 2 I could see... But not 30GB worth.
They changed animations, im guessing that is a big part of it.

GOG says hello!

(For real, if GOG could get Steam's game library, I'd switch to then in a heartbeat. DRM only hurts paying customers IMO)

You are not forced to have the steam DRM on steam, it's up to the publisher/Devs, there might be a different pricing for the fees and stuff for Valve and the publisher/Dev, but you are not forced to.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 1,2 and 3/3Platinum don't have the steam DRM and can be copied to any PC without steam, it will work.
