I've been trying to setup retroarch so that I have GBC and GBA games launch at 2x, centered on the screen with an overlay. Wii config is 16:9, 50hz. It's AV output is fed into a generic AV-HDMI converter, with the switch on it at 1080p setting, to HDMI-VGA into a 1080p computer monitor. I've used the provided widescreen config files to that effect with the result on the attached image.

Been trying different configurations, as in having the wii as 4:3, as well as playing with retroarch settings based on info pulled from google, but the most I managed to get was either:
a) have the game more or less full screen (black bars never fully go away and looks like garbage)
b) have the game at 2x, in the top left corner with thicc black bars on the right and bottom.

Neither of those cases I get any overlay working. I have no clue whatsoever. I suppose I am doing something horribly wrong into using and configuring this pack so any help on what lever I'm missing would be appreciated.

i tried digging through this thread a bit, looking for if anyone actually made the NeoGeo CD plugin & buttons for Wiiflow and rhapsodii shima or not. I downloaded the databases, i think from another thread. But does anyone have the plugin/dols and stuff for it?
hey man, just saw this quite late I know, are you still looking for the button & background for the rhapsodii shima? I made them for myself, could share them if you want. let me know.

Hey guys, hope everyone is alright. Congrats on the new pack, awesome as usual, you guys are solid. Quick question, I updated a few of my plugins that were being a bit problematic, and now my Neo Geo won't play a few selected games for whatever reason. Any ideas? It plays equally large games and it loads the cache and all that, and it plays some regular sized games apart from a few that actually used to work before the update. I have tried some stuff but am a bit of a loss here. Anyone?

Metal Slug 3 and Real Bout FF Special by any chance not working?

I am 99% sure the BIOS are giving you issues.
@Okko and I have found the fix/solution.

1. Take your neogeo.zip BIOS and extract the files into a folder, then remove the neogeo.zip from the folder.... Now remove these files if they are present...
uni-bios_3_3.rom
uni-bios_3_2.rom
uni-bios_3_1.rom

2. Search for and download the free and legal current uni-bios 4.0 BIOS. Now extract to your desktop and rename the file to (uni-bios_3_0.rom).

3. Now drag and drop the file you just renamed into the extracted BIOS folder. Yes overwrite the file when prompted.

4. Now highlight all files inside the extracted BIOS folder and ZIP the contents naming to (neogeo.zip)

5. Now drop the NEW neogeo.zip into the folder where your NEO roms are, start WFL and for example sakes, select and boot Metal Slug. Most likely you will get the famous NEO bios boot.

6. Press Home on Wiimote...scroll to and select Options...scroll down to and select BIOS...scroll dow to and select Universe BIOS ver. 3.0.

7. Now Quit RetroArch, back to WFL and boot Metal Slug again. Neo-Geo Universe BIOS 4.0 should boot now...

If you press A,1,2 simultaneously during BIOS screen you can change between USA, Europe, Japan Arcade or Console BIOS. Some games have extra content available in Arcade mode, other things are altered depending what region you set also.

Hope this helps you out and these new modified BiOS work 100% with both RA and SS-Hexaeco.

@RunningSnakes thank you so very much buddy. And sorry for the delay on the reply, been super busy with work these last few days.

So now I've had time to work on the BIOS and unfortunately still can't get it to work perfectly well with RA. Think I'm gonna make my peace with it for now to be honest.

Once again, thank you very much for the detailed explanation and the time it took to reply.

Not a problem. Such a bummer you couldn't get NEO running to satisfaction.

If you have not given Hex-Neo VM a shot, it could possibly fix your troubles.

NEO-GEO is definitely one plugin that is troublesome for many. It works 100% using both RA/HEX i can assure all.

My thoughts on updating the plugin pack any further.

RetraArch is in a decline, new releases are breaking compatibility & more cores are becoming unstable.

I know niuus, Tanooki16, among others are actively updating their emulators. @SaulFabre has been updating Sonic Mania/Plus as well.

I believe what we have in place is as good as it will get at this point in time. I truly do not believe updating is beneficial, other than keeping current with GX-RX-TX emulators.

NEO CD is definitely something we can hope for in the near future. For now, V12 will have to be sufficient.

@RunningSnakes yeah I'm satisfied with the Neo Geo to be honest. Looks good and most importantly, it's working haha.

By updating and "fixing" the issue I was having with the Arcades in general, I messed up everything else haha so now I'm in the process of testing and assigning plugins to buttons and again and all that.

If you could shine a light please, I can't get Amstrad GX4000 to work, or FDS or the Wii games even. Have been trying to loads of stuff but can't seem to figure it out. I believe all the BIOS are the right place. Any ideas? Thanks again buddy.

I'm gonna make this my last update for sure as, apart from the Arcades, I had it all working perfectly before.

Also, my bloody Neo Geo CD background won't work anymore haha Have also tried millions of different things at this point -_-

@Tinouk
You have Wii games on USB correct?
Go to Wii Settings page 1/ click Game Partitions/ make sure Wii Partition is set to USB. If this doesn't fix the issue, go to Settings page 2/ click Startup Settings/ USB Port should be 0.

What plugin are you using for Nintendo FDS games? There is not a central location for BIOS files to be located unless you are strictly using Retroarch. This most likely the issue (BIOS are not present with the plugin you are using).

For Amstrad GX4000, are you using Retroarch or Retroarch-Alt plugin? I highly recommend using the RA-Alt plugin for GX4000 and the normal Retroarch plugin for Amstrad.

Amstrad CPC:
Use Retroarch plugin.
Start any game and if it does not autoboot...
Scroll to and select Core Options/Scroll to Model and select 6128...
Quit RetroArch back to WFL and again start any Amstrad game and now it should autoboot.

Amstrad GX4000:
Use Retroarch-Alt plugin.
Start any GX4000 or converted game and if it does not autoboot...
Scroll to and select Options/Scroll to Model and select 6128+...
Quit RetroArch back to WFL and start any GX4000 game and it should autoboot now.

WiiSXRX2022 Plugin Magic Number is wrong, showing Wii Background with magic=53583232 when It should be magic=57495358 @Tetsuo Shima @RunningSnakes

EDIT: Atari 2600 both plugins have the complete wrong magic numbers, showing the Wii Background on both, so many issues in this pack, can someone at least give me the Atari 2600 magic number?

Playstation and Atari 2600 paths and magic numbers were not altered in any way from the previous pack. This really sounds like you have file corruption as this issue is jumping from different plugins/consoles.

While testing Atari 2600 plugins, i have discovered why Wii2600 save states were not working. Here is the fix/add that will be included next release.

Please may I ask what you personally use to transfer data to your SD card from PC? I have a feeling then it’s either the device I’m using to transfer data some things are getting corrupted as I have such slow transfer speeds, or my SD Card itself is corrupt

My PC is around 10 years old Gateway 1st generation I7 which has normal SD & Micro SD to transfer data. I use both 32gb & 128gb SanDisk ImageMate 120mb/s transfer speed.

I have a quick question? Do you happen to use WiiXplorer?

My PC is ancient lmao I’ve got Intel Core Duo and a GT 710, my SD transfer speeds don’t seem to go above 1mb and drop into kbps, I’ve just bought a Sandisk USB Mate 3.0 so hopefully that will speed it up, reckon the speeds are too slow and ended up corrupting some files?

I have never used WiiXplorer, what is your use for it bud?

Was wondering because i suspect this program causing file corruption. Using this app through USB has caused file corruption and data loss on several occasions. I have never experienced it using SD but will never use it with USB again.

Yes, a new SD will hopefully solve the issues.

Now here's where I'm having some major problems, my blank covers are not working on any box arts. I've also got a lot of Playstation Games that I've added and when I clicked on Playstation on WiiFlow It reboots WiiFlow entirely and takes me to the Wii Games, something is causing it to crash. Please help me :( Have I organized the PS1 Iso's correctly? Is it anything to do with games having multiple bin files? These are the only issues I'm having before I am finished, apart from the Atari 2600 not displaying correctly which has baffled me

Hey, my friend, I ended up using CD Image and merged all the Bin files into a single one, when I click PlayStation on WiiFlow it reboots and kicks me back to the menu :( It was working fine before untill I added more games, any Idea what is causing this?

mGBA really that good? I've used nothing but Mednafen
I will never talk bad about WiiMednafen, a great overall multi-emulator. But there are some emulators on Wii that are vastly superior to anything else...mGBA is among the very best.

FCEUXTX
Genesis Plus GX
mGBA
SNes9xRX
Snes9xTX
